A poll taken by Sta.rtUp.Biz surveyed 1,237 U.S. small business owners asking them who they will choose for the next president.

The poll, that took place Sept. 25-Oct. 1, showed that 52% were for Obama. McCain had 41% and 7% were undecided.

Sta.rtUp.biz also allowed its member base to voice their opinion on the election. Over 200 small business owners posted their comments on the matter, and here are a few of their voices:

"I don't need a president with a knee jerk reaction to every action he takes. McGAIN, yes I said McGAIN, because I see his actions with this current run for president, as another business deal or purchase of property to add to his other seven homes. Never move so quickly, everything has a process."-Katherine Brooks, Atlanta, GA

"I get tired of the Democratic doom and gloom thinking. I am voting for McCain! One thing conservatives have is a positive attitude about the resilience of our great country. We believe in the greatness of the people, not the government."-Ron Maxim, Olympia,WA

Obama is the only one that this great nation can vote for if we intend to survive.

how can we survive when he proposes over a trillion in more spending and 95% of all Americans are getting a tax cut? where is the cut coming from and how is he going to finance these big programs like socialized health care?

I think if you listen, he intends to tax the other 5% of the population and also take back some of the Bush tax breaks for large corporations.

you're worried about a trillion when those in office just spent3 trillion??!! Come on --who is living in a fairy tale world about what it takes to run a solvent company?

I just spent 3 days crossing this nation by truck! This nation's infrastructure is in serious disrepair and that is from lack of tax money to cover and maintain it.

It is really sickening to hear people complaining about taxes when any business person knows that you have to have funds to run a solid business and maintain a standard of quality. Americans must get better educated soon about what it takes for a nation to survive--we are living in la-la land if we think it doesn't cost us something when our neighbors get sick!

right on, Mary Beth! a man who has actually rubbed elbows with the down and out versus someone who pretends to care and then just keep giving the privilege and the bucks hand over fist to those who could care less if we all croak before they move their accounts to the untouchable land of Dubai or Saudi Arabia!

I'm voting for Barack Obama , because I truly feel that he will be the best candidate for president . I believe that he has the real pulse on the United States. As for McCain and Palin , I think that they are completely out of touch with the american pulse , and if they were to be elected we might as well say we're electing Bush for another term .

i wish people would stop listening to the biased media and quit saying McCain is another Bush.... what a bunch of hogwash.

Hi. As an outsider and non US resident to let you know that the rest of the world are looking to this election and can see perhaps more clearly than all of you that if you vote for McCain you will have merely replaced Bush with yet of the same.

We do not get to hear much of what your media are saying, we just watch events.

In all countries it is not the leader that makes the decisions it is the funders and rich elite who do not get voted in who have the say.

Hi Jenny - it is the same in the USA - it is the lobbyists that seem to have the say here - they are so entrenched they not only make the decisions, they run the campaigns.

I agree with you that McCain is four more years of Bush - actually he would be worse - even if he isn't elected it will take years for this country to recover from what the criminal Bush administration has done to this country. I cannot understand why people can't see this, but it seems there are still some that refuse to look at the situation the way it is and say "enough".

Well, in what significant ways is he different? On the economy? On tax cuts to the richest? On the war in Iraq? On Iran? He has the same people running his campaign. Hogwash can be disproved.
