When you sign up for a business opportunity, do you sign up because of the amount of money you can make, or do you think first of the people you know who would be as excited as you are to find an opportunity like this? What is it about the business that excites you?

Try to capture this same feeling in your marketing campaigns. If possible, save the e-mail or ad that you read that got you convinced to sign up. Rewrite it in your own words and use it in safelists, and in your own autoresponder if you have one. Think about the key words that made you stand up and take notice. What emotions did you feel when you read these words?

Take down a list of these words in a notepad and save them. Start paying closer attention to what you read and make a list of all the key words that have the power to make you take action. Start using these words more often. Start listening to tv commercials and think about the words they use to solicit response. What makes that burger sound so delicious that you want to go start up your car and run to the fast food place?

Media influences our daily lives in such a strong way that we're liable to buy things we don't need just because we saw a commercial on tv that said it would do everything better than the every day things we already use. Why are Burger King and Wendy's able to compete with McDonald's? What do they have to offer that's any better? Why is Tide laundry detergent better than Cheer? What's the difference?

Is Geico car insurance really better than State Farm? Is it really cheaper? Or is it the funny gekko and the cave man they use that makes it sell better?

With a little creativity you can accomplish the same things as the major advertisers. Use the powers of your Godgiven creative mind and put forth a litlte bit of effort in your campaigns. Don't think like a seller, think like a consumer. What do you want the product to do for you? What are the best points you can bring out about it? What need can you fullfull with the product?

Do the advertisers on tv sound desperate to sell something? Pay attention to the pattern of the commercials. It's there. Read the classifieds in your local newspaper and pay attention to the ads that you actually want to read. What words seem to jump off the page at you and pull you into what they're saying? This same power is yours for the taking. Grab it.

Great advice. I really like the part where you say to think like a consumer, not a seller. This is worth reading over and over. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Phyllis. You'll be really surprised with the results of actually doing these things. I've learned to pay closer attention to commercials on tv and radio and
apply these techniques to my own advertising. It really does work.
