How to present your business...

That sounds silly doesn't it? Why would I have to learn how to present my business opportunity to others? I just sign up and start posting right?

It would seem on the surface to be that easy, but I see a lot of people have a real hard time...

Over time social networks create a very tight community. Everyone learns the rules and looks out for each other...

That's the first thing... Read the rules. Different social networks approach how you display links differently or even what you can talk about...

The other thing is don't come in gang busters!! Don't try to prove yourself and get to excited about showing everyone your knowledge etc....

Get to know the community first. Hang out for a while. Introduce yourself politely... Usually there is a separate area set aside for intros... And then start browsing.

Get to know the other members... Remember a lot of these people have known each other for a while. They may even be doing business behind the scenes...

Once you have a feel for it, start helping out.

Helping out... If you have any knowledge to contribute, provide it... Help people with things you know about.

Learn... Read... Learn... Read some more... Ask questions...

Then let it rip if you want to.

The bottom line is very few people can go crazy right off the bat... There is an exception here or there, but usually the community wants to see you contribute for a while before you get bold. They need to get to know you.

Definitely don't provide a sales pitch in your first posts... You will getting flaming posts and anger the community. Everyone will see it as spam.

It's just like building any relationship. Take it easy at first until you get to know each other.

Social networks are powerful things. Don't abuse that power. And don't ruin your reputation...

I to wish to add my thanks. It is great that there are people like you to help us learn the robes and be supportive and respectful of others. I don't want to do anything wrong.
I want to network, get to know people and what everyone is doing to 'make it' in this wild and wonderful world.

No surprise to find great stuff here, Matt! Good counsel for us all, and I appreciate your willingness to invite me here in the first place as my first networking experience online, to help me on arrival with great tips and info, and for the free coaching session answering questions and sowing ideas for building.

I will watch for your posts, and will devour each one!

Thanks again, Matt.

Thanks Matt
Cause I can not stand spammers and I don't want to appear to be one either. Getting the hang of things is getting easier. I've been on-line for several days now and I am looking at how everyone is posting and presenting their businesses. I am being encouraged cause I want to build good partnerships too. Thanks again.

CRAZY!!!!!!!!! I am still just trying to figure out how to change background colors.
I agree about hanging around a while to learn how to make this work. I have lots to share and can't wait to get started. So bare with me while I figure this out...
Thanks for your comments...they seem to make a lot of sense.

Matt,
You are absolutely correct.
Social networks are about building relationships.
The proper conduct is to introduce yourself and demonstrate an interest
about who members are and what their interests.
Posting blogs, forums, videos, pics, and comments is a demonstration of a sharing nature.
People don't mind being receptive to offers made by someone who has invested time to find out about them.
You are exceptionally good at the art of social networking.
