How to present your business...

That sounds silly doesn't it? Why would I have to learn how to present my business opportunity to others? I just sign up and start posting right?

It would seem on the surface to be that easy, but I see a lot of people have a real hard time...

Over time social networks create a very tight community. Everyone learns the rules and looks out for each other...

That's the first thing... Read the rules. Different social networks approach how you display links differently or even what you can talk about...

The other thing is don't come in gang busters!! Don't try to prove yourself and get to excited about showing everyone your knowledge etc....

Get to know the community first. Hang out for a while. Introduce yourself politely... Usually there is a separate area set aside for intros... And then start browsing.

Get to know the other members... Remember a lot of these people have known each other for a while. They may even be doing business behind the scenes...

Once you have a feel for it, start helping out.

Helping out... If you have any knowledge to contribute, provide it... Help people with things you know about.

Learn... Read... Learn... Read some more... Ask questions...

Then let it rip if you want to.

The bottom line is very few people can go crazy right off the bat... There is an exception here or there, but usually the community wants to see you contribute for a while before you get bold. They need to get to know you.

Definitely don't provide a sales pitch in your first posts... You will getting flaming posts and anger the community. Everyone will see it as spam.

It's just like building any relationship. Take it easy at first until you get to know each other.

Social networks are powerful things. Don't abuse that power. And don't ruin your reputation...

Thanks, great advice! Isn't it all about relationships? You certainly wouldn't come on like gang busters to people you meet in person so the same applies to the net...sometimes in our eagerness we forget that.

If I do not know you I will just delete your comment or message. Hope people can use your comments. I found that you have been posting very good comments.

Thanks Matt,
Your information is Sound Advice to all of us.
I am a member of many Social Sites and mostly all you get is bombarded with Requests to Join in the other persons Program or Opportunity, and once joined you are left alone to figure out how to succeed which is nigh on impossible alone.
Thanks for your Time and your support.
Regards Don.Goldwyn.

Thank you for this post. I am new here but relationship selling is the way to go.

When I was in full time sales in the 90's I would drive my sales managers crazy because I wanted to build a relationship with my customers before selling them. I figured it would be easier to get a friend, or at least an acquaintance to purchase my product than someone I really didnt know and hard sold.

Who knew, it worked and was a lot less "work" than if I had gone out trying to hard sell everyone.

Good advice

Nice instructions you place here it is not only valuable for this forum but it is a best guideline for a good marketing and a successful too for generating a good sale pitch, the start up guys always ignore this essential rule when they are placing there ads in forums, message boards and other online communities and soon get the label of spam.

There is a very slight difference to become a good marketer or to become a spammer, in the light of your instruction (if anyone follow these lines) no one will suffer in spamming.

Thanks & Regards

I think too many people get impatient, and thats where it is very tempting to just join a group and spam. Far better to join, introduce yourself and participate in forums and blogs, to generate trust than to blatantly spam. Put a link at the end of your blog posts and in your profile, but thats about it. I've learnt the hard way trying to promote Clickbank products!

Dear Matt:

I totally agree with everything that you said. I do not plan to do any of those things. I am an older woman and have been in business for many years. There is so much that I dont know how to do on here. I am willing to learn new things from many people.
Thank you for your input on this.
