Hi Walt, yes, you are on the radar for most of those terms too. I think you should change your front page title. It is descriptive of your site name but it doesn't say what you offer. If it were me I would re-write the home page title: "Small Business Target Marketing | Selling To Your Ideal Client" or some variation of the keywords that you want to rank for. The same goes for the other titles of articles, and meta descriptions that you write in the future. Right now a couple of your articles are ranking but your homepage isn't.

Usually links are to a home page and it is the most powerful page that you have. It appears that you are using most of the keywords that you want to rank for on your home page. I would also link to your pages using the keywords in the anchor text.

I am getting tons of internal server errors on your pages, it was like this earlier when I was on your site reading. That is something that needs to be looked into. Great writing, great content, I'll visit again.

Thanks James,

Ok, I've changed the Home Page Title within "Settings" in Word Press. Not sure this is doing the trick.

On articles, yeah, sometimes I'll write with keywords in title, other times, I'll use the Seth Godin approach. What Meta Description Plug-In do your recommend? I use All in One SEO. Sometimes it seems to pick up Meta Tags automatically, but it seems to work best when I physically enter info?

Links to pages using anchor text? That's why I have the tag after each post with "small business marketing" that goes back to home page. Any thing else?

Yeah, the Internal Server errors... not sure what that is . Any suggestions on the fix?

Also, looks like I need to spend some time on the 10 Commandments stuff. lots of good ideas there.

Thanks James... appreciate your time and efforts.

Walt

As far as the Internal Server Errors I would contact your hosting provider, this is something I am sure they would want to know about, the email listed on the error page is support@supportwebsite.com.

The tag back to the home page is a good start, I was refering more to external links to your site. Internal linking is important too. Useabilty and end user navigation is aided with easy navigation links, like the breadcrumbs at the top of your page.

Manual entry of descriptions is more time consuming but a preferable option. The titles and descriptions are going to entice users to click on your link vs another result in the search engine results returned. If you use your keywords in the description then the search engines will normally grab the description that you want it too. This isn't always the case, long tailed search phrases pull a variety of words and phrases from a page. Search engines display the information that is most relevant to the requests.

I can't knock anything surrounding Seth Godin, he is a smart man that everyone can learn from.
