What book(s) has/have inspired or influenced you?

List one or list all..

For me it is:

1) Success through a Positive Mental Attitude

It was my first business or self help book that I ever read. I read it once a year from age 14 to 25.

2) How to Win Friends and Influence People

Helped me get out of my abrasive personality and learn how to comunicate better in my college days.

3) From Good to Great

Made a big difference on how I ran my companies.

Permalink Reply by Susan on June 18, 2008 at 10:20pm: Two epic novels have influenced me over the years. One is Gone With the Wind and the other is Lonesome Dove. Both of these books are the kind of page turners that you can't put down once you start reading them.

I believe they both positively influenced me because they are about people who don't give up. Each book also spanned many years in the lives of the characters. This easily showed the overall effect a person's life has on those around them.

These novels made me see, it's not all about now. It's about a bigger picture. What we do today and the decisions we make each day, will make a difference in the whole outcome of our lives.; ▶ Reply to This

the Science of Getting Rich ( yeah, there actually is a Science ;-)

the Science of Being Great

Think and Grow Rich ( as mentioned above, I love the excersize in there on how to literally attract money towards yourself instead of pushing it away all the time: page 30 I think)

Ask and It Is Given ( which goes deeper into understanding, that it is all about creating your life and not living it by the circumstances surrounding you)

New Earth( the one Oprah is doing a class about right now)

All these books changed my life and showed me the amazing beauty of life!
As well as brought me to the world greatest mastermind All4One.

While in college I took some business courses, in one class the assignment was to read Green Eggs and Ham. The business course was teaching us the art of salesmanship. The professor even went on to say this was the greatest salesmanship book ever written. Since then I never look at a book in the same way.

1. Mythology by Edith Hamilton - It was my bible when I was a little girl growing up in Catholic elementary school.

2. In Tune With the Infinite by Ralph Waldo Trine - It was the first book that I read in college about the science and spirituality of wealth, health and the power of the mind.

3. When God Was a Woman by Merlin Stone - The first book I read in my early 20's which enlightened me about my own divine feminine.

4. The Hero With a Thousand Faces by Joseph Campbell and

5. The Goddess Within: A Guide to the Eternal Myths That Shape Women's Lives by Jennifer and Roger Woolger - Both books introduced me to the world of Jungian Psychology and the power of myth.

6. Jonathan Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach and

7. Illusions by Richard Bach - Both Bach's books introduced me to a world of unlimited possibilities.

8. The Cosmic Doctrine by Dion Fortune - Introduced me into a world of deeper Cosmic Law and the guiding principles of the Universe.

9. The Tao of Physics by Fritjof Capra and

10. The Dancing Wu Li Masters by Gary Zukav - Both books broadened my horizons by introducing me to the world of science and mysticism.

11. The Holographic Universe by Michael Talbot - Introduced me to the world of Quantum mechanics and the paranormal.

12. Meditations by Emperor Marcus Aurelius - A wonderful book written by one of the last great Roman Emperors about self-mastery and his philosophy of life. I might add while it is becoming more of a consumer market, there are also new emerging markets for professional services and organizations. The books I mentioned offer a good canvass of the interrelationships, implications, and I think the nature of solutions that are going to form in response.
