LEADERSHIP IS ACTION! ...NOT A POSITION!!
TRUE LEADERSHIP comes with a lot of responsibility! One must have experience, knowledge and practice in leading others in any business setting or life venture! Experience comes from time spent doing the same things over and over again that work! Knowledge comes from studying those things that are relevant to how you market your business and learning them through and through! Practice is the function of doing something repeatedly until you know it like the back of your hand, having it right and ...being totally comfortable doing it!
That's not to say we don't all make mistakes from time to time ..we all do! But to bill ones self or anyone else, as a leader because they think it so, imagine it being so, or because they can afford to buy themselves a lot of product in any business and create lots of volume for financial gain ...is NOT True Leadership in any way, shape or form! This happens more often than not in online marketing and we've personally seen such repeatedly in our industry!
It is true, that engaging in such activity does create a named position ...but it does NOT a True Leader make! If a person that is new or only has a few years in marketing a business purchases a lot of product ...IS that person a leader? What about that person who has more than a few years in business? Does purchasing a lot of product make them a TRUE Leader?? The obvious answer here is ...No it does NOT!!
We have a lot of people across the board in this industry that are sponsoring other's into their business opportunities. What does a sponsor do? What are the responsibilities of a sponsor to the member's they introduce and bring into a business? How does a sponsor become a TRUE Leader?
Lets explore what it is in a great sponsor that makes them a TRUE Leader. Ask yourself these questions:
Does your sponsor know their business? Have they studied and know their business website and back office such that they could teach others effectively? Do they know and abide by the company regulations and policy's? Do they engage by being on ALL the company calls for the benefit of the company and their team members? Do they stay in contact on a regular basis with their team members making sure that they have everything they need to market their business and can get answers to questions? Do they unselfishly give of themselves, their time, efforts and on occasion a new member to help someone else get qualified in their group?
Does your sponsor step up to the plate and speak on calls, organize and hold their own team calls for their team group members? Do they regularly encourage and inspire their team group members I.e, kind notes, a phone call, contests, rememberances of special occasions? There are a lot of things that TRUE Leaders do that the "Wanna Be's" won't ...and don't! To be a TRUE Leader, one must look at everything they can do to help others first ...that is the success of what service to others brings and in turn true success for those that know how to be a TRUE Leader!
A lot of people believe that because they've been in business for years that they are leadership quality or material; not every one has those given talents and skills! As young children we learn everything in life that we do ...we learn to talk, we learn to walk, we learn to run. We learn to read, spell, sing, socialize, cook, sports, electronics, mechanics ...everything we know! Why would anyone think that becoming a true leader in business is any different?? None of us are born leaders but ...we do have the capacity to learn how to become one!
Leadership talent and skill comes with great responsibility! One must learn their skills and nurture their talent first ...then be willing to step up to the plate and practice what they tell others to do, share their knowledge and help teach others learn how to enhance their talent and skill and ...how to market their business just the same! That's what creates leaders in our industry! Leadership is NOT something that can be bought and sold! Positions may be bought and/or sold but ...TRUE LEADERSHIP IS NOT!
Leadership takes a lot of practice, experience and knowledge! It's not just some magical equation that makes anyone a leader! Think about some of the leaders in history! Did they become leaders because they were wealthy or because they bought into it? One might choose to believe that there are those who in fact do gain leadership positions in that manner and sometimes that does happen, however, that does NOT a leader make ...Only a position!
Those leaders in our industry that we respect and look up to have:
1.) SPENT TIME in learning their skills, craft & business!
2.) EFFECTIVELY and unselfishly ...done and shared those things that work with others!
3.) RESPECT others no matter their true position in life or business!
4.) KNOW the value of great character, honesty, ethics, morals & credibility!
5.) CAPABLY resolved problems with a positive attitude and outcome!
6.) NEVER bred "Cancer's" or negativity in their group team member downlines!
7.) EARNED their position ...through hard work, respect, experience, knowledge, practice and time!
Max Steingart says this best:
All successful people became successful, because they gave some talent or ability in
the service of others.
You can contribute in some way to others, no matter how small your talent.
You too, can become successful. No one achieves success without being
of service.
Successful people don't use others, other people use the successful, for above all
success is of service. Everyone has to be someone to someone ...to be anyone!
Service is the essence of success!
Folks, let this be the moral of the story. Learn what it takes to be a TRUE Leader! Take the time to study your business, your craft and nurture and enhance your personal talent and skills! Learn everything about "HOW" to become a leader and make it happen! Your credibility is only as strong as the truths you impart to others in business. Be who you are and ...NOT who you want to be! Become WHO you want to be ...Learn how to first! Don't decieve others into believing you are someone your'e not unless you can back it up with truth about what you know personally and have gained through experience and knowledge!
Don't disrespect those who have spent years studying, learning, implementing and sharing their qualities as TRUE Leaders, by pretending to be as knowledgable as they! Instead, learn from them, watch them, study them, read about what others say about them and learn everything you can about them! Then and only then, go out and become like them and your success will be the greatest, truest and much respected... as theirs is! Your Success WILL be your TRUE Blessing!
