My heart goes out to anyone affected by the tragic events on September 11, 2001.
While we were all affected--that day changed all of our lives--my thoughts and prayers are particularly with those that were directly affected by the acts of terrorism committed that day.
Sept 11- a tragedy without a shadow of a doubt. All across our world misunderstanding, politics, religion, family and a whole host of factors spawn conflict, hate, war and destruction.
It would be a incredible world where our differences are celebrated not ridiculed, fostered not crushed ~ that is a place that mankind needs to strive towards!
Having family that live in both New York, and New Orleans that were effected by tragedies, I am thankful that their are people like you that have not forgotten their suffering! God bless you also, for keeping the story alive in the minds of others!
I too wish to send my sympathies to those who lost loved ones on that tragic day. And as the great John Lennon once said: "All we are saying, is give PEACE a chance!"
I think America has become a stronger nation in many ways because of this moment of infamy. So I hope you too are strengthened from the moment to momentum to movement.
Sept.11 indeed was a tragic event. A lot of speculation whether this could have been prevented and how. Homeland security arose out of this. A fence is being built along the U.S./Mexico border, which I can see out in the desert mountains here in El Paso, TX. Some people agree with this fence some say it is a waste of taxpayers money. Same story with the war in Iraq, the war on cancer, the war on.... some agree some don't. Being a physician cancer is a hot topic of discussion for me. My younger brother had throat cancer was treated and is still alive today. Did it change his life? He still smokes and drinks alcohol heavily. Have these tragic events changed your life? For the better? Do you tell your loved ones how much they mean to you everyday? Often? Have you mended that relationship with whoever it may be that went sour? We are here today but what about tomorrow? For some people saying I'm sorry is very difficult, especially when you feel you are not the one who should be saying it. Mending broken relationships is so worth it even if you have to swallow your pride, be the stronger one and make that phone call or pay that visit and say I'm sorry.
I wasn't personally affected, but I remember exactly what I was doing when I heard the news, Iwas outside mowing the lawn and a neighbor came over and asked if I had heard the news. Well,I'd just like to send you my condolescences and deepest sympathies. May God Bless you! I'm sending each and everyone of you a hug.
I went to ground zero in the summer of 2002...before starting acting school in NY...and it was just so hard to see it and my thoughts and prayers too go out to all the people who were directly affected by the terrorists acts that day. And to know that it could have been prevented.
I wish God's grace and mercy be shown to all those directly affected by that moment in history of 9/11, and pray that His blessings continue to fall on all of us who were touched by that tragedy. I also ask for our troops to return home soon.
I remember the clarity of the sky and how beautiful it was. It was just an unbelievable day.
My first thought was "What kind of idiot would fly so badly that they would crash into one of the Twin Towers???"
Then the second plane hit.
I watched a program last night on the history channel. I did not catch all of it I just happened to be changing from channel to channel. I saw most everything that I remembered watching on the day the tragedy occured and some new footage. What got to me the most is that they had film on 19 firemen arriving at the scene. They all looked shocked and some them were looking up at the towers in bewilderment. Then the show went on. After the first program another followed this one with commentaries from the people who happened to be there. They for various reasons had immediate access to a video camera and shot footage. It was the same footage that they showed on the first program. When it got to the person who shot the footage of the firemen he said that he had found out later that all 19 of the firemen in that footage died that day. I don't think that I have ever connected personally to the faces of the individuals who died until last night. I wonder exactly what they were thinking through it all. They were totally heroic in every way. My thoughts and prayers go out to the survivors of all the people who died that day. -Leah
