Happy Friday,

Recently I noticed things being moved around on these pages. Okay I guess, and for the most part it doesn't cause problems. But on occasion it does cause usability problems, or the ability to access pertinent information at the ready.

For example, Social Networking is about meeting and interacting with members of the community. We all get that... so with the recent changes I noticed information, "Profile Information" is being pushed out of the way, or down to the bottom of the page. That from an engineering perspective is a "Usability" problem.

When I visit a profile page, I do so in hopes to learn about that individual first. Maybe thereafter I would be interested in what others have posted on their wall. Not the other way around.

Two questions:

1.) Is there a way for members to change the order of the content on their profile page?

2.) What are your thought about usability and or accessibility of the content presented on this network?

Thanks in advance,
Robert

Yes, you may rearrange it by left clicking on the section of the page and dragging it to where you want to drop it.

This change was done at the software level so it was out of our control. Their hope is that this causes more people to engage with eachother using the comment wall. Any new change is uncomfortable. I feel the same way about wanting to see the facts about each person when I click on a profile, but I may be conditioned over 14 months of having it this way.

Hi Brandon,

Thank you for the reply, my responses are as follows:

>> "Yes, you may rearrange it by left clicking on the section of the page and dragging
>> it to where you want to drop it."

I can confirm this does work, and I was able to re-arranged my content flow. Good news.

I don't understand the software level's reasoning. Placing the wall first does not prompt me to engage, rather quite the opposite. Here's why. We already discussed I am more interested the the individual's profile, wall comments are secondary. Add to that, wall comments are 20% thoughtful exchanges of greetings, another 10% communication among members, and the remainder is sales, or ads. Do you turn on your TV to watch commercials? That's why cable is so successful. Enough said....

But at least in the case they left us a work around to re-arrange the content blocks. Yeah ;-). I wonder how many members know this is possible?

Thanks again,
Have a great day,
Robert
