Oftentimes, we may over-complicate the task of being organized. We try to make some elaborate plan for our organizing efforts, but then find ourselves being overwhelmed by the complications we've created.
We do this by overthinking what must be done, instead of stepping back and taking a good look at everything, so that we'd have a much better picture of where everything should go to make life much easier for ourselves. Meanwhile, the real key to being organized could'nt possibly be more simpler.
First and Most Importantly, You should clear your mind of anything else that may be clogging your thoughts and draining you of your energy. Things such as regular household chores, from shoppinig to cooking dinner can steer you from your goals if you're not careful. So, it is best for you to try to stay focused on what's important for you to be more effective and efficient in your business and start taking a mental picture of how you want your space to look and how it should be.
Next Know where to put your things. There's an old adage that states; there's a place for everything and everything having its own place. Once you have a specific place for everything, the process of organizing should become a snap. All you have to do is put everything in its rightful place, and voila, you're done. It's just a small matter of "
Feng Shui" which is "
The Art of Creating Harmonious Surroundings."
Thirdly There are a number of things you can use to assist in your trying to be organized. Plastic bins of all shapes and sizes are readily available at your neighborhood stores and even many department stores. In using these items it makes storing and organizing your small things such as paper clips, pins, tacks, etc., easy and convenient, as they can be labeled and stacked, making your items easier to find and readily available, therefore, taking up as little space as possible.
Along these lines, there are also a number of different kinds of
space organizers’ available, which are generally something to the order of "
Filing Cabinets " for the much larger items and are great for keeping your desk free of clutter from papers, folders, books and the like. This method is effective and inexpensive as well.
Be sure to make the best use possible of the space available to you. As mentioned, stackable containers work well. Similarly, using wall-mounted shelving units can greatly increase the amount of space you can use for organizing and the things you don't use, separate them by storing them as well, or just get rid of them. Keep in mind that you're trying to keep down the clutter as "
Clutter Breeds Chaos" and only clogs your thinking!
By doing this, you keep the area from being cluttered and make it much more manageable by throwing away the things you don't need. Once your area is organized, take care not to fall back into the same disorganized rut as before. Putting things back in its own place and a few minutes of tidying regularly, can keep you from having to repeat all of your hard work.
Once you've mastered staying organized, it will not only become second nature to you, but you'll also free up some of your time, so that you can move on to more important matters like taking care of business!
