I sure don't know where Zig Ziglar came up with the slogan “you can get whatever you want in this life as long as you help enough other people get what they want".
I will tell you this is one of the truest statements man has ever spoken.
I blew many opportunities for success early on in my life because of my self centered and selfish ways.
It was all about me. I was young talented (the gutters are full of talented people, trust me on this one) and wanted what I wanted when I wanted it.
This does not work!
I learned why later on. The secret ingredient is contribution.
Every successful person I ever spoke to had the same message to me. It was right in front of me the whole time. Each individual in his or her own way was a giver first and a receiver second.
It was never winner takes all, it was Win-Win or the deal was not done.
Steven Covey brought this to light in his book 7 Habits of Highly Successful People.
A day late and a dollar short for me at that time but the past does not equal the future so I persisted without exception and continued to learn.
Contribution + Achievement = Fulfillment
When I contribute to my fellow man by doing the next right thing, success is inevitable
When it is all about me and I force the square peg in the round hole I get Zip, Zero, Nothing.
The only place success precedes work...is in the dictionary. I say this because we must continually work on our communication skills, belief and value systems. In other words ourselves
Treating people with honesty and integrity creates win-win situations.
When I do the above I have more success, passion and abundance than I ever imagined
What is your mission statement? Write this down. When you write it on a piece of paper it burns into your subconscious.
If your life is not congruent with your mission statement what is one thing you could do at this very moment to create change. Write this down also.
Remember what you give you get to keep and trust me it is more than you can ever imagine.
