Leaving MDAnderson to go home

---------------------------------------------------------------

July 9th

After getting diagnosed yesterday at MDAnderson, I decided I was not going to hide the fact. I am really scared for my life and for the life of my baby. At the same time, I can not help but to worry how people will look at me with only one breast. They are also going to have to remove a large portion of my back. The back skin and the back muscle will be used to cover the hole where my left breast and chest muscle will have used to have been.

The good news for everyone reading this is that I should be back from the hospital by Monday and able to work from my computer out of my bed. I am a strong willed woman and I plan to heal quickly. The other partners of the company met last night and decided to donate a portion of all the profits to breast cancer research. I cried when I saw that they had placed the pink ribbon on the logo today.

My twitter account, that was initially used for updating on Sta.rtUp.biz, is also going to be used for updates on my battle, which I will win. Please take a moment to sign up to follow me on Twitter and tell your friends about it. I would like to share my story every step of the way.

MDAdnerson has informed me that I will be the 6th pregnant woman in medical history to have a mastectomy. They also told me that there has been less than 100 documented cases of pregnant women with cancer since they started tracking in 1991. I hope that by getting my story out, that I will be able to connect with some of the other 98 or so women that have gone through what I am going through now. This is the only way that I will find answers because the doctors say they can give no answers with so few statistics.

So please share this post with everyone you know. Hopefully, the power of business networking can lead to me finding answers and spreading awareness at the same time. Little did I know that a few weeks ago while watching how Twitter was changing the way we see Iran, that I would be using it to find answers and support in the fight of my life.

My surgery is at 6am Friday morning. I should be able to give a twitter update in the evening or dictate it to a family member to tweet it for me. I want to thank everyone for taking the time to read this and for forwarding this message on to all of your contacts.

You blow me away, Natalie. A colleague of mine has a show, "The Beautiful Women Project"

It is an art exposition of plaster casts of women's torsos - some of which are women who have had mastectomies. When people come to see her show, they often tell her their stories. I'll send her your story for you.

Nathalie, I have been there, in 2004 2 cancers where diagnosed in my body (1 in the breast-one on an "ovaire".
I had chemo, radiations and several operations but I am still here.
Optimisme is very important in your case and as long you don't have metastases you will be ok.
You will see, believe me, I am still here and doing fine!

You are so brave to make the decision to share your story when you have had so little time to get used to the idea of this situation yourself. My prayers are with you and your baby

In China, there is a complementary treatment for cancer. It is a form of Qigong called the Guo Lin Family Qigong. I have been taught this form by my father-in-law, Dr. Zhou Peigen of Shanghai. If you go to www.JadePowerQigong.com, I have Guo Lin's story. She was also a cancer survivor, stage 4. I send the .pdf file of the Guo Lin Family Qigong form without charge to anyone who asks for it. There is an e-mail link to get this information.

Will do everything I can to pass this on across the web. My husband is a long-term lung cancer survivor. There is a book that he shares with people over the past 15 years called The Cancer Conqueror by Greg Anderson. It really helped him as he worked his way through the process. We've given this book away to dozens of people who likewise have found the words uplifting and helpful. There is much hope to be found and remember you are not alone.

You are a very courageous woman! Some will question why you chose to share something so personal. But a vast majority will understand just how much your candor and disclosure uplift others. So there is already a positive benefit. Your connecting with similar survivors will serve to make your sharing even more beneficial. I will share your story to all that I can.

It is great that you are willing to share so others can learn!! My prayers are with you and your family.

In the last couple of years I've been learning a lot about cancer, preventing it, possible causes, preventing recurrence, etc. I am amazed at how little I knew before!! Dr. Otto Warburg won the Nobel Peace Prize for Research on the Real Cause of Cancer in 1931!! He says, “Cancerous tissues are acidic, whereas healthy tissues are alkaline." Therefore, if we become less acidic, our bodies can heal themselves.

One great way to do that is by drinking Kangen Water -- used in hospitals in Japan since 1965 with great results. Dr. David Carpenter is a naturopathic doctor who is treating stage 4 cancer patients using Kangen Water. Dr. Hiromi Shinya (developer of the colonoscopy procedure) also treats cancer patients with Kangen Water. They are having great results. The water does not cure you -- it helps balance your body so your body can heal itself.

I've seen miracles happen with this water -- not only with cancer, but with MS, fibromyalgia, arthritis, and many other health issues. A great book to read is "The Enzyme Factor" by Dr. Hiromi Shinya. There are many others out there that are good to read. I'd be happy to point you in that direction if you're interested.

There is more information on my web site www.kangen-health.com You can get a free ebook on the subject, and a newsletter that is also free. No obligation. Feel free to email me with questions kangen-health@hotmail.com I'll be happy to point you toward more information.

I would like to add to Marcia's post. She is on the right track as to alternative cures for cancer. Otto's research proved that cancerous cells CANNOT LIVE in a highly oxygenated and/or alkaline environment. Cancer cells grow aggressively when given sugar and the Ph of the body becomes acidic. Kangen water helps because it is an ionized alkaline water. Simply putting a small amount of aluminum free baking soda in water can make it alkaline.

Another method that can kill cancer cells is to mix baking soda in with pure maple syrup (1 part soda to 3 parts syrup). The cancer cells gobble up the sugar only to have also consumed the baking soda which is lethal to them. It is kind of a Trojan horse effect.

I am not a doctor and I cannot officially recommend these to you. This is knowledge I have learned from years of reading other's research. One thing you CAN do however, is to AVOID sugar. Another, is to find an acid/alkaline food chart. Try to consume 75% alkaline foods daily. I use common Ph test strips to test my urine for an indicator of what my body Ph is.

Most doctors may not agree with some of this, although I would bet that the cancer diet they are having you do most likely follows an alkaline food chart (I would hope). Being pregnant certainly complicates all of this, as the baby's welfare is important. I would like to suggest you Google "baking soda and cancer," Essiac Tea and alternative natural cures for cancer. Research as much as you can and make your own decisions from that.

If you are in a chemo/radiation treatment program, ask the doctors to detail to you what the chemicals they use do to your body Ph and your immune system. Your immune system is the whole key here to the baby's and your health.

I just wanted to give you more information to use in the decisions you have to make. Cancer is not a scary thing when you are armed with proper knowledge. You and the baby are in my prayers,
Jerry
