Leaving MDAnderson to go home

---------------------------------------------------------------

July 9th

After getting diagnosed yesterday at MDAnderson, I decided I was not going to hide the fact. I am really scared for my life and for the life of my baby. At the same time, I can not help but to worry how people will look at me with only one breast. They are also going to have to remove a large portion of my back. The back skin and the back muscle will be used to cover the hole where my left breast and chest muscle will have used to have been.

The good news for everyone reading this is that I should be back from the hospital by Monday and able to work from my computer out of my bed. I am a strong willed woman and I plan to heal quickly. The other partners of the company met last night and decided to donate a portion of all the profits to breast cancer research. I cried when I saw that they had placed the pink ribbon on the logo today.

My twitter account, that was initially used for updating on Sta.rtUp.biz, is also going to be used for updates on my battle, which I will win. Please take a moment to sign up to follow me on Twitter and tell your friends about it. I would like to share my story every step of the way.

MDAdnerson has informed me that I will be the 6th pregnant woman in medical history to have a mastectomy. They also told me that there has been less than 100 documented cases of pregnant women with cancer since they started tracking in 1991. I hope that by getting my story out, that I will be able to connect with some of the other 98 or so women that have gone through what I am going through now. This is the only way that I will find answers because the doctors say they can give no answers with so few statistics.

So please share this post with everyone you know. Hopefully, the power of business networking can lead to me finding answers and spreading awareness at the same time. Little did I know that a few weeks ago while watching how Twitter was changing the way we see Iran, that I would be using it to find answers and support in the fight of my life.

My surgery is at 6am Friday morning. I should be able to give a twitter update in the evening or dictate it to a family member to tweet it for me. I want to thank everyone for taking the time to read this and for forwarding this message on to all of your contacts.

A blessing from God in the utherus and a bad happening in the breast. Indeed a question yet to be answered, but for sure God knows His doings and if I were in her position, I surelly would question a lot my own life, but at the end, Charlene, I am sure I would come to the conclusion that He is right and I acted wrong. Blessed feeling, pregnancy no doubt is a trust from God on His daughter, I would be strong enough to heal myself, if not in the body itself, on my soul.
Everybody has the merith to receive their charges and the beauty of that rudity is that everybody, at the end, do win over the battles.

Hello Natalie,

my prayers are with you.

I know exactly what cancer mean and I have accompanied so many cancer patients successfully who won the fight against their cancer on a natural way (without chemo, radiation, and/or mastectomy).

I know the problem which people have when suddenly diagnosed with cancer, all the fears, but it would be better to calm down for a moment and try to get well informed about not only the common ways of medicine but also about the natural alternatives... and not to forget, to trust in God and pray.

I don't know of anyone with this situation but I wear a pink wristband in honor f my two sister-in-laws. We lost Debbie a little over a year ago. she was one of the most caring beautiful people I ever met. She was only 50 and left m brother and four daughters. It was so rapid that they scheduled the mastectomy very quickly. My other sister-in-law saw her mother go through it and although I felt that she could have had other treatment, she elected to have the surgery saying, "it is more important to be there for my grandchildren", she has seven. bw. the wristband has not been off since I put it on aver three years ago.

Please pass on this "Prayer for Healing" to this woman and anyone who needs it ... if anyone passes it on, I consider it a blessing to me so Please "Pay it Forward"

Here is a Micshbeirach to help you get better

Hello Natalie,

I pray for your and your baby's well being from my heart...

The particular Ca. you have is exceptionally rapidly growing & seen in pregnant ladies mostly because of the hormonal changes in pregnancy. The sad part is that it grows fast and considerable time is wasted in diagnosing it since it mimics a Breast Abscess.

As your drs. must have rightly told you- you should get rid of the breast at the earliest even if it turns out to be only inflammatory later (such is the seriousness of it). The breast can always be reconstructed later.

Its treatment part is still very much evolving and this is where you can find info your Dr. may not be aware of:
Inflammatory Breast Cancer Research Foundation

You are a strong lady and am sure that you will sail through this troubled time smoothly and be an inspiration for many affected by this dreaded disease.

Hey Natalie, Good luck with your fight against cancer and congratulations on your future child! You get in there and fight and don't be concerned about what other people think or how they look at you. How you look doesn't matter, it is what is inside that counts. Your true friends will support you and the rest weren't your friends anyway. Let me know if I can help you in any way. Your true friend, Phil
