Now that the new president elect is making himself comfortable in the White House, we would like to know how small business owners feel about the future under his leadership?

Will your business flourish under him or get hurt by new taxes? Will he end up making a positive impact on the nation and the world?

Obama makes my business future worse. Last year my taxable income was a tad over 300k and I paid my fair taxes. This year I am expecting to make more and on the new Obama plan I will be paying higher taxes to spread the wealth to illegal immigrants who don't pay taxes. His plan gives back to 95% of adults but only about 60% of adults pay taxes.

We should all be very afraid.

Immigrants on the payroll have taxes deducted just like the rest of us.

1. Obama will not be in the White House until January 20th or so - I am not sure which date they actually move into the White House.

2. Obama's new taxes will be good for the nation since they will be used intelligently to rebuild the infrastructure of the nation.

3. We are all citizen's of this great nation - time to step up to the plate and put our money where our heart has been. It is unpatriotic to drive the nation and future generations into the ground trying to keep your tax rate down.

First of all, it is up to all of us to make a positive impact on the world by our response and action to President-Elect Obama. We, as people, of all races, culture. religion, etc., need to stop trying to have a "savior" in making things better. We are the ones, that can only make it better for not just ourselves, but for others.

I have a home business, which I just started, and I don't feel that my business will be hurt at all under his leadership, but will get better, because I will go the extra mile to make it that way!

Let's give him a chance. I'm not ashamed to admitt that I voted for Bush when he promised help to the disabled person looking to start up. The fact that it never came well thats why I voted for the Obama this time.

Besides what I understand his plan to be is based on companies higher up the food chain then most of you are . me im still on the bottom looking to fiance what I need to make my dreams real

I think overall Obama will be good for the future of business. Small businesses especially will have some new opportunities to get funding, and it should be easier.

Yes, those making more than $250k per year will have to pay more taxes, but those of us who haven't had the chance to ever make it there have been paying higher taxes for a long time - let's share the burden more equally.

I totally agree that we need to curtail and put laws in place to offset the illegal immigrants who don't pay taxes, but I think they are two separate things, and this is something that needs to be addressed in Congress. I encourage everyone, as I have, to get in their faces about this issue, and several others - like healthcare, and social security (I know, laughable).

Obama has been very clear in saying that it's going to take all of us to make a difference. Let's work together to cut the pork spending, help those involved make the right decisions with the remaining $350-billion in funding to help the financial crisis, and make our elected officials more accountable for what 'we the people' want them to be doing.

I see nothing positive coming from an Obama presidency for small business. We already let Pelosi, Reid, Frank, Dodd, and Obama impose their will on the mortgage industry. That turned out well. Now to solve that problem they intend to take what little we have left. Adding additional tax burdens will only stifle the economy. I know many other business owners who are scared to death. They already take a beating in payroll taxes. More taxes will mean more layoffs, more unemployment, and higher unemployment tax rates on small business owners. I simply cannot believe that so many Americans have been so star-struck by Obama that they have completely let go of any common sense. I'd sure like to know how those who voted for Obama think he's going to magically find all this money he's promising everyone.

Frankly, I'm scared. Just watching the news, watching how I'll need to protect myself...

"Obamanomics" scares the whiz out of me and the future of my business.

I have many concerns regarding the future of our country. I am not sure how much Obama may or may not be able to do to improve or worsen things. I do know that the last few years have been favorable to small business owners like us. It would be troubling to see tax changes that could hurt small business. It is evident that the fear that exists in our country, especially concerning the economy, has created a much bigger group of interested people who are looking for a Plan B. We have seen a big increase in the last few months.
The idea of working extremely hard in order to achieve success and make dreams come true should never be dampened by the idea that we will have to share the fruits of our hard work with people who are able but not willing to work and simply relying on handouts from the government or other Americans.

Hello,

My business will flourish under his leadership because his policies will aid with opening more doors for my business (nationally and internationally). I am not as concerned about paying more taxes, as my gross revenue (and profits) will increase proportionately. In addition, the world will have a "more positive" impression about our country.

Secondly, when you look at his overall philosophy, it is to help ALL Americans in some way -- economically, create more jobs, repair our infrastructure, etc. If only we had demanded as much from President Bush!

Frankly, everything isn't just about how much money we make or the taxes we pay -- and, didn't corporate and business greed got us into the economic crisis?

That's my $.03 worth.
