Now that the new president elect is making himself comfortable in the White House, we would like to know how small business owners feel about the future under his leadership?

Will your business flourish under him or get hurt by new taxes? Will he end up making a positive impact on the nation and the world?

Its obviously too early to tell whether he will be a good or bad influence on business overall and small businesses in particular. (Unfortunately, I remember the 80s when prime was double digits and the econmy was stalled by policies very similar to what he has proposed, so I'm not too hopeful.)

I didn't vote for Obama and only reluctantly voted for McCain but regardless of who you voted for the current state of the economy is such that we are in basically uncharted waters and I personally don't think Obama is enough of an out of the box thinker to do anything except rearrange the deck chairs on the Titanic.

I hope I'm wrong but in case I'm not at least I'm now in the position to get some of that redistribution as I've seen my income dwindle from over $125k to less than $40k.

Yes, it will. I don't need to make over $250,000 per years, so I won't be paying higher taxes, and if I did, I would not mind paying higher taxes. I think he is extremely intelligent, creative and respected all over the world, something Mr. Bush lacks in all respects. I think the country will prosper once we get out of this recession and Mr. Obama will help the country prosper for the long term--everybody, not just the rich.

I don't think he'll help my business, especialy as he's the wrong side of the pond!
I somehow don't think I'll ever see his name appear in any of my downlines, so quite frankly
the answer is a resounding NO!

Mind you If he moved to Britain, and took over from Gordon Brown, he'd probably make things worse.

My business is home-based and my husband works for a corporation. We have looked at it from both sides, that of a small-business owner and that of a multi-million dollar corporation. Based on Obama's CURRENT position and proposed plans for the future, both of us will be impacted heavily if those things proposed become a reality.
Everyone has a "Plan A," but if you have not come up with "Plan B" or even C, then put that on the calendar and get to planning! It is only smart no matter what industry you represent/are affiliated with.

Obama is making his mark and should be motivation for all business owners to make their mark in their given industry, too. While he also demonstrates strong leadership skills, something each of us can learn from, we also must stand firm in what we will and won't condone, will and won't vote for, will and won't support, etc. As the song lyrics go, "you've got to stand for something or you'll fall for anything..." Decide what you WILL stand for and what you WON'T! Then, be sure your elected officials are aware of your stance by contacting them via email, their website, or "snail mail"...doing nothing is the worse decision you can make.

Let us never forget what this country was founded on - The United States Constitution, The Declaration of Independence, and the Pledge of Allegiance. When was the last time you read through these and took to heart what was stated by our forefathers and the creators of each? Veteran's Day was last Tuesday, but let us never forget those who paid the ultimate price for the freedoms we sometimes take too lightly and forget, daily, to be thankful for.

United We Stand.

May we NEVER forget who we are, from where we came, and that we ARE STILL "one nation under God, indivisible, with Liberty and Justice FOR ALL."

Ex. "The Autobiography" of Benjamin Franklin

We Can then understand why it is so important for us to come together As a Community....

I don't know what to say but Everyone please trust your instincts.

I'm optimistic. After eight years of enduring a low-performing, corporate-beholding, and corrupt moron, it seems unlikely that things will get worse because we now have an intelligent and articulate leader. While Mr. Obama may not be able to wave a magic wand and change everything immediately, at least he deserves a chance to steer us in a new direction.

I for one did not vote for Obama. All that I have read about him indicated that he was not qualified to be the leader of America.
Yes, we should all be very scared. Look at the people he is associated with...He still has not produced his birth certificate which is odd, don't you think? In order to run for President you must be born in the US. So why isn't he producing it? I am sure you venture of pretty good guess!
Someone mentioned -stop looking for a savior to save the US. Well, we do need a savior but his name is not Obama, it's Jesus.

Susanne while we are all entitled to our opinions yours is one that behooves me. He has property in Chicago, a resident in Washington, DC and he just resigned as a a US Senator to hold the highest office in the world. There is something wrong with our system if that was an issue and has been overlooked. I dont think so. A birth certificate please get real and answer the question.
