Now that the new president elect is making himself comfortable in the White House, we would like to know how small business owners feel about the future under his leadership?
Will your business flourish under him or get hurt by new taxes? Will he end up making a positive impact on the nation and the world?
Obama was not born in Indiana, supposedly he was born in Hawaii. Although he has a grandmother that has stated otherwise.
Sheesh...talk about getting your facts right. John McCain was born on a US base, which by definition is considered US territory. The birth certificate he produced was not an original, and the last I heard NO ONE has authenticated it except for FactCheck.org, which is owned by a company Obama helped get funding for....so yes, get your facts right.
BTW, McCain was born in the Canal Zone which is not in the U.S. Also, McCain was absolutely clueless about the economy, and picking someone as inexperienced as Sarah Palin to be his running mate was a political stunt and certainly not putting "Country First."
I will not allow another person, President or not, to dictate my success. It is apparant we give him and others far more power than he actually has. This is America, we have a voice. Our problems in all areas of this country is that we DON'T use our voice.
It is difficult when new laws are inflicted upon us, this is true. But if we allow another will to overcome us it is our own fault. We are creative beings and posess the spirit of great power, if we choose not to use it.....who's fault is that? Right........so, stop wining, spitting and yelling at others and get down to business.
If you need some coaching, call me. If you need encouragement or a new spin on something, call me. I am not afraid of what has occured, I live in the here and now and know that "all things work to my good" if I stand and do allow the winds of diversity to rule me.
So very well said. I'm with you Kathleen! The sad thing is that most people do not realize the control they have over their own lives let alone how to use it. Why is it do you think that two people can be doing the same business following the same steps, but one is rich and the other is poor. It's not about how you do things, but the state of mind you use in doing those things. You create your own reality.
If you think that this one man is going to dictate your success or your failure then sadly you fall into the category of misunderstanding your power of will. Obama has already done what he said he was going to do, "Bring Change." He has done that because for the first time ALL ETHNIC RACES are not afraid to speak their minds and have their voices heard regardless if they are for or against Obama. He has brought hope to those who have felt they did not have any. This in itself is positive change because through hope people can spring to action. Action takes you out of sedentaryness (I know it's not a word but you understood what I meant) and into a mind-set of doing rather than waiting for things to be done.
Regardless if you voted for or against the man Obama is President Elect Obama. His views may or may not be your views. Agree with that which fits you and your mind-set and leave everything else. Keep in mind however that that which you think about most is what you bring into your reality. So if you constantly think negative thoughts, what room do you have to create positive things in your life?
I see positive changes with Obama for the simple fact that he truly can't make things any worse than they have already become.
This might help some of you understand the way our tax laws are set up.
Suppose that every day, ten men go out for a beer and the bill for all ten
comes to $100.
If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, it would go something like
this:
The first four men (the poorest) would pay nothing.
The fifth would pay $1.
The sixth would pay $3.
The seventh would pay $7.
The eighth would pay $12.
The ninth would pay $18.
The tenth man (the richest) would pay $59.
So, that's what they decided to do. The ten men drank in the bar every day
and seemed quite happy with the arrangement, until one day, the owner threw
them a curve. 'Since you are all such good customers,' he said, 'I'm going
to reduce the cost of your daily beer by $20. 'Drinks for the ten now cost
just $80.The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes
so the first four men were unaffected. They would still drink for free. But
what about! the other six men - the paying customers?
How could they divide the $20 windfall so that everyone would get his 'fair
share?' They realized that $20 divided by six is $3.33. But if they
subtracted that from everybody's share, then the fifth man and the sixth man
would each end up being paid to drink his beer. So, the bar owner suggested
that it would be fair to reduce each man's bill by roughly the same amount,
and he proceeded to work out the amounts each should pay.
And so the fifth man, like the first four, now paid nothing (100% savings).
The sixth now paid $2 instead of $3 (33%savings).
The seventh now pay $5 instead of $7 (28%savings).
The eighth now paid $9 instead of $12 (25% savings).
The ninth now paid $14 instead of $18 (22% savings).
The tenth now paid $49 instead of $59 (16% savings).
Each of the six was better off than before. And the first four continued to
drink for free. But once outside the restaurant, the men began to compare
their savings.
'I only got a dollar out of the $20,' declared the sixth man.
He pointed to the tenth man,' but he got $10! ''Yeah, that's right,'
exclaimed the fifth man.
'I only saved a dollar, too.. It's unfair that he got ten times more than I!
''That's true!!' shouted the seventh man.
'Why should he get $10 back when I got only two?
The wealthy get all the breaks!
''Wait a minute,' yelled the first four men in unison. 'We didn't get
anything at all. The system exploits the poor!
'The nine men surrounded the tenth and beat him up. The next night the tenth
man (the richest) didn't show up for drinks, so the nine sat down and had
beers without him. But when it came time to pay the bill, they discovered
something important. They didn't have enough money between all of them for
even half of the bill!
And that, boys and girls, journalists and college professors, is how our tax
system works. The people who pay the highest taxes get the most benefit from
a tax reduction. Tax them too much, attack them for being wealthy, and they
just may not show up anymore. In fact, they might start drinking overseas
where the atmosphere is somewhat friendlier.
For those who understand, no explanation is needed.
For those who do not understand, no explanation is possible.

In seeing how everything is relative to everything else and that no view is fixed and certain, there is a new ability to just
“wait and see how things unfold,” and to appreciate and allow the contradictions and paradoxes of life to be as they are.
Life no longer need to be as predictable and certain. But I believe he will do a great job.
Do you know that every Saturday you can see him at:
Obama’s YouTube-place, and on his official net place
Change.gov under
«your weekly address».
He will use the same methods as: Franklin D. Roosevelt «fireside chats» on the radio.
You can read all information and news about his life on: Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
Did you know that the President has been doing weekly radio addresses since Reagan? Did you know that President Bush made them available as a podcast at www.whitehouse.gov/news/radio? He is the first President to really have the Internet as a means to communicate with the general public, and while not a YouTuber, he was progressive. It is amazing what you can find out when you are truly interested to know what is going on, and not only sheepishly follow the "popular" crowd.
