Now that the new president elect is making himself comfortable in the White House, we would like to know how small business owners feel about the future under his leadership?

Will your business flourish under him or get hurt by new taxes? Will he end up making a positive impact on the nation and the world?

It's good to know somebody out there actually understands "The System".

I think we need to give him a chance but I do think our businesses will flourish with him in ofice.

For those that think that Obama's plan will be a failure, what do YOU think would be a better strategy? All this talk about his plan being terrible, how about giving solutions if you know so much about the economy.

Something certainly has to be done. The middle class is struggling as it is now, people are losing their homes and jobs. Not enough money is coming in. Hey, I wish I had your problem, making well over 250ks and worrying that I don't want to pay more in taxes in order to help with the economy. Not everyone makes over 250ks! I certainly never have. You can't tax MORE on the middle class. The money has to come from somewhere. Might as well everyone start living in the streets then (The middle class that is, which makes up a very large percent of the US population). Be grateful for what YOU DO HAVE. It's GREED that has destroyed our economy and ALL of us in the process. For those that make well over 250ks, quit your whining! It must be good being able to still have your home(s). Don't let greed run your life! Quit using the illegal immigrants as your scapegoat! As for myself, I'm a US citizen and proud to be an American! Time to come together, put our differences aside, and start rebuilding our country.

First I have to say that none of us really know what will happen and need to be positive. That said my business is way down and not looking good and I do not think that Obama will be able to do what he thinks he can. Lets all remember that he is only one person and untill the president elect gets into office he/she will never know all there is to know. I did not agree with his plan for the most part because I do not think it will happen, I truely feel we are all going to get hit with tax increases. We can all wish great things and hold onto the hope that it wont happen but things are worse then he could have phanthomed and I do not think he has the experiance to handle it but I am hopeful that he is smart enoughto know that now and surrounds himself with those who have the experiance and knowledge.
We will find a way though that I am sure be optimistic. I have been down this road in the 90's and it will turn around. Be inovative and keep pushing forward and remember all the politicians know that they need to turn things around they do not want to loose what they have so they will work at making things better again.
As for the ILLEGAL imigrants they do get social brakes, social services, that my disabled father can not or has had to fight for, for years. I have nothing against any group but do have a problem with people coming here illegaly for many reasons and also those companies that hire them. I also think the goverment needs to help companies out with being able to get guess workers into the US. Ithas been a very hard and costly process and needs to be simplified.

Rather than basing an answer on campaign rhetoric, plus given the fact that we have a new Congress with a stronger Democratic majority, I will wait and see what both Obama and Congress come up with for both taxes (personal AND corporate) and mandates on businesses.

Will businesses face mandated health care (insurance) requirements, mandated wages, mandated other benefits? Will business' share of FICA taxes increase (not a personal income tax but my bet is this tax will go up regardless of income)?

The entrepreneur has a remarkable ability to change and adapt to new rules and mandates and find ways of making a profit in spite of government edicts.

From the site of the Europe the states see in Obamo a fresh prize of wind. He is new but the members of his stuff are not, important is that he can manage this people and is not only the representative. He starts up in a very difficult time and the circumstances require also decisions less popular.

What's happening now is not Obama's fault. Say thanks to Bush you have all of these problems. And guess what, no matter how dissatisfied you are Obama is still the President!!!!

I am not a seer or prophet therefore I will not try to predict what I do not know. Judge nothing before its time. Let's just wait and see.

I can not actually believe that any intellegent person would think that Obama is a "Socialist"!!
That is just plain ridiculous! When people say things like that to me, it must come from a place of fear.
I am far more afraid of President Bush and would have been more afraid of McCain and his Vice President who didn't know that Africa was a Continent instead of a Country!!
Americans need to pull together and support the President now rather than call him names such as "Socialist" than try to continue to divide the country more than it already is divided after the election!
People say he is our first "Black" president elect..however; he is really bi-racial, meaning he is just as much white as black. I think that is totally cool. He is blended just as our country is supposed to be.
You have a right to not like him, but as an american, we should all support him. I supported Bush even though I though he had lost his mind. That is what Americans do.
I am totally hopeful that a President Obama will help me as a middle class person and I believe his promises were made from his heart. We all can't agree..but we can agree to disagree. :)

What's wrong with socialism anyway? I am finding it very hard to believe that there are so many negative comments about your new president. At least he can speak English and doesn't make up words! But maybe that was one of Bush's endearing qualities...never did understand why people didn't find him an absolute embarrassment.

The way I see it, Barack Obama is a refreshing change to the last 8 years and the disaster that we are facing now. I don't want to believe what's going on, but fortunately I have faith that we have been given, not only a man that has his head on his shoulder, but so do the folks he is picking to assist him. We all know that there will be some great challenges, but a honest spiritual person can win over all catastophes. If the people in this America can maintain the unity that they had in this past election and after 9/11, we will be victorious. It takes a nation(village) to raise itselfs up and we have that honor. To chuck abbott feel blessed that you will make more this year than last and be able to support your nation with your prosperity. If there wasn't a USA, you might be restricted because of the politics of that country. Be grateful and thankful. Thank you.

Very concerned in that the jury is out with President-Elect Obama. I do not have a good feeling about where we are going as a country (from a Capital Hill perspective). It is never in the best interest of business (large or small) when our country has a very one-sided administration. At this time, we will certainly not have a fair and balanced representation on the hill (or even in our state legislation).

Althought, I believe we must give our newly elected President respect as our Commander-In-Chief, we must do so with a very watchful eye. As business executives, we must be prepared to have our voices heard in the event laws and regulations do not fend in our best interest. Small business is the heart of this country (and even perhaps globally). We must do all we can to protect it's sovereignty.
