Now that the new president elect is making himself comfortable in the White House, we would like to know how small business owners feel about the future under his leadership?

Will your business flourish under him or get hurt by new taxes? Will he end up making a positive impact on the nation and the world?

Riches are rightfully yours.
Medicine is by definition, a science of disease elimination but disease has increased with it. Religion is a science of sin elimination and yet sin is promoted around the world. Economics as a study of poverty is filling the world with wretchedness and want. To get rich you need only use your will power on yourself. Remember that it is faith and purpose in the use of your imagination which make the difference between the rich man and the poor man. Man's right to life means his right to have the free and unrestricted use of all things, which may be necessary for his fullest mental, spiritual and physical unfoldment or, in other words, his right to become rich. Becoming rich is the noblest thing you can accomplish in life and is the best thing you can do for the poor. To incentivize them to use their imagination and apply themselves in the right manner so they too can become rich. Give the man a loaf of bread and you feed him for a day, show him the manner in which to plant the seed and the technology to reap the harvest and you will feed him for a lifetime. Some degree of ability to think and understand is, of course, essential; but in so far as natural ability is concerned, any man or woman who has sense enough to read and understand can certainly get rich. No man or woman has been kept poor because opportunity has been taken away from them or, because other people have monopolized the wealth. At different periods the tide of opportunity sets in different directions, according to the needs of the whole and the particular stage of social evolution ,which has been reached. There is abundance of opportunity for the man or woman who will go with the tide, instead of trying to swim against it. No one is kept in poverty by a shortness in the supply of riches. The oak tree is an example of real life expectation of riches, the seed placed in the ground does not produce instant full-grown tree, but it does start the motion of the forces which will produce the tree with the consistent watering and nurturing necessary. Thought is the only power that can produce tangible riches. Man or woman is designed to be a thinking center and can originate thought. All the forms that man or woman fashion with their hands, originates from thought. To look at something like disease, will most likely produce the form of disease in your own mind and ultimately in your own body. To think of health when you are surrounded by the appearances of disease gives you power over your own body and conquers fear and in turn can conquer disease. When we realize this we lose all doubt and fear, for we now know that we can create what we want to create and this is the fundamental first step toward becoming rich. Intelligence is under this same necessity for continuous improvement, knowledge is power. But without action, nothing takes place. Get rid of the idea that God wants you to sacrifice yourself for others, and that you can only secure his favor by doing so; God requires nothing of the kind. What he wants is that you should make the most of yourself, for yourself, and for others; and you can help others more by making the most of yourself than in any other way. In your business you cannot give every man more in cash market value than you take from him, but you can give him back more in use value than the cash value you take from him, of the thing. In my business our great value is the promise of better health and a more beautiful face and body. The whole process of mental adjustment and atonement can be summed up in one word, gratitude. Being grateful for everything in your life is a step toward riches. People you must deal with will see your gratitude and your business with thrive. Gratitude keeps you connected to power. To permit your mind to dwell upon the inferior is to become inferior and to surround yourself with inferior things. Gratitude on the other hand, will bring you into harmonious relations with the good in everything, and the good in everything will move toward you. Unless you really want to get rich, so that the desire is strong enough to hold your thoughts directed to the purpose as the magnetic pole holds the needle of the compass, it will hardly be worthwhile for you to proceed. The only way in which poverty will ever be banished from the world is by getting a large constantly increasing number of people to apply the science of becoming rich. Put poverty and all things related to poverty behind you and don’t allow anyone to force the thought process on you. Keep your thought productive toward you goal of wealth. Think of the riches the world is growing into instead of the poverty it is growing out of and bare in mind that the only way you can help the world grow rich is by growing rich yourself. Some people remain in poverty because they are ignorant of the fact that there is wealth for them and this lesson can best be taught to them by showing them the way to affluence in your own person and practice. Do not bother if yesterday’s work was well done or poorly done; do today’s work well. Put your whole mind into the present action. You will see that it is a self evident proposition, that if you do not do any inefficient acts, and if you do a sufficient number of efficient acts, you will become rich. By focusing on each task and not poorly doing many, it is possible for you to make each act an efficient one and by that very nature the acquiring of wealth is reduced to an exact science, like mathematics. Remember that successful action is cumulative in its results. In order to do this man/woman must past from the competitive arena to the creative mind. A clear mental picture must be formed of the things you want and proceed with action and purpose in all that can be done each day; doing each separate thing in an efficient manner. There is never any hurry on the creative plane, and there is no lack of opportunity. You do not have to cheat, or take advantage. You do not need to have any man work for you for less than he earns. You are to become the creator not the competitor; you are going to get what you want, but in such a way that when you get it, every other man or woman will have more than he or she had before.

Besides what I understand his plan to be is based on companies higher up the food chain then most of you are . me im still on the bottom looking to fiance what I need to make my dreams real

Everyone needs to understand that any president can only do what congress will allow. Persons on disability, welfare and unemployment will only benefit when congress puts in place a graduated benefit plan. But that doesn't fit with the Democratic Party's socialist agenda. As long as those on institutionalized poverty believe that their government handouts are deserved they won't seek to better themselves.

I am not saying people don't need help, but they need to take some responsibility too. When someone get laid off they won't take a low paying job that is available because they can earn more on unemployment. The benefits need to be graduated. If individuals could work they way off government subsistence they would and we would stop generational poverty.

We need to get back to what made this country great. Individuals with a vision of earning a better life for themselves and loved ones. Today's young people want what their grandparents worked 40 years for, today. I had to laugh at a one couple's wedding registry. One of their items on their wish list was a plasma TV. The groom is also on our church prayer list because he hasn't found a job. I would be sympathetic if he was trying to find a better job with benefits, but he is unemployed. Right now he just needs a job. I have never understood why it is more noble to be unemployed or collect a government check than flip a burger.

OK, if I write any more I will need to post my own blog.

Perhaps you, Matt, need a lesson in understanding; you should be sure of your facts before you shoot out "your opinion" so you don't rant about something that only makes known your ignorance about what you are ranting!

Although there is some truth to what you are trying to say, you repeatedly undermind that truth with your ignorance.

You start your post by insulting "everyone"- your word not mine -insinuating that no one understands how the government works, except you. This implies that you see yourself as superior to "everyone". This is referred to as arrogance, which is a egocentric feeling of entitlement.

Then you go on to stereotype "those on institutionalized poverty" as all one group that believe they are entitled to government handouts. Certainly there are some who abuse the system, but most do not. I was once a single mother of 2 small children and had to seek help via government assistance- that's what its called by the way- and actually I was entitled to receive this as prior to my need I had paid taxes for 10+ years and it is taxes that support this assistance. I eventually worked my way off assistance and into a high 5 figure income, and have paid taxes for the past 17 years on that income. And I took responsibility for seeking employment, educating myself (paid for by myself), and raising my children (I paid for their education as well, including college!) with out further assistance. So please do not assume, it makes you appear ignorant!

Next you go on to state " When someone gets laid off they won't take a low paying job that is available because they can earn more on unemployment." This requires a list to explain!

1. The government does not fund unemployment benefits, however they do Pay unemployment insurance premiums for all government employees on the state and federal levels. Employers are required to pay unemployment insurance premiums based on the income of each employee.

2. The State Employment Security Commission is responsible for collecting, administering and paying out "unemployment insurance" benefits to workers who are ELIGIBLE for such benefits. This system was established to assist workers between jobs, to maintain purchasing power, and to limit the serious effects of unemployment on the community and state. It is not a form of relief or public assistance, and is not based on need. To be eligible you must have been separated from your job through no fault of your own, be able and actively seeking employment that is suitable to your work history.

Simply put, if you become unemployed through no fault of your own, you may receive benefits based on your income from the year prior to becoming unemployed and continuing for up to one year or until the maximum amount of your initial determination is exhausted.

I became unemployed, due to my employers situation. I therefor have the right to receive benefits. I worked diligently for this employer for more than 10 years and was let go with no notice what so ever. I made a high 5 figure salary the entire time I was employed. Although I am proud of the fact that I took responsibility to ensure I never accrued any debt other than my home and vehicle which I purchased according to what I could comfortably afford. I now find myself on the verge of loosing both due to being unemployed and unable to find comparable employment. I have exhausted all my savings, investments, and 401k while actively seeking unemployment and only then did I resort to claiming my benefits. And you think I have no right to do so? That instead of continuing to seek employment in my profession while receiving the benefits I am entitled to, I should accept a full time job that pays less than my benefit and does not allow the time necessary to seek such applicable employment??

Again your arrogance and ignorance appall me!!

I agree that SOME of today's youth have a skewed idealism of how the world works and what their responsibilities with in the world are, but again you generalize and stereotype them all to this same group. My children are 20 & 23, both college students who work full time while helping to pay for that education. I raised them to be responsible and compassionate people, to have good work ethics and to be respectful and accountable in their actions; yet in one sentence you delegate them to being irresponsible, arrogant, and egotistical. I was once told that when we point at the flaws of someone else always remember there are three pointing right back at YOU!

Finally, there is nothing noble about being unemployed or receiving public assistance; perhaps this is why you never could understand? Or perhaps you have never had to suffer the indignation and embarrassment of having to resort to such for your livelihood? Just remember, there but for the grace of God go I and Never say what you will Never do as you are likely to do just that. Maybe that would actually be good for you to suffer through, it might help alleviate some of your arrogance and ignorance. Or at the very least you would know what you were talking about instead of assuming!

I think overall Obama will be good for the future of business. Small businesses especially will have some new opportunities to get funding, and it should be easier.

Yes, those making more than $250k per year will have to pay more taxes, but those of us who haven't had the chance to ever make it there have been paying higher taxes for a long time - let's share the burden more equally.

I totally agree that we need to curtail and put laws in place to offset the illegal immigrants who don't pay taxes, but I think they are two separate things, and this is something that needs to be addressed in Congress. I encourage everyone, as I have, to get in their faces about this issue, and several others - like healthcare, and social security (I know, laughable).

Obama has been very clear in saying that it's going to take all of us to make a difference. Let's work together to cut the pork spending, help those involved make the right decisions with the remaining $350-billion in funding to help the financial crisis, and make our elected officials more accountable for what 'we the people' want them to be doing.

I see nothing positive coming from an Obama presidency for small business. We already let Pelosi, Reid, Frank, Dodd, and Obama impose their will on the mortgage industry. That turned out well. Now to solve that problem they intend to take what little we have left. Adding additional tax burdens will only stifle the economy. I know many other business owners who are scared to death. They already take a beating in payroll taxes. More taxes will mean more layoffs, more unemployment, and higher unemployment tax rates on small business owners. I simply cannot believe that so many Americans have been so star-struck by Obama that they have completely let go of any common sense. I'd sure like to know how those who voted for Obama think he's going to magically find all this money he's promising everyone.

The money tree has its place in government, it seems that those who seek political office are aware of it and that they themselves can pick from it as often as they can sneak in onto a bill in congress. It seems that honesty is the best policy was not meant for politicians. There are endless promises, which Obama has made to get elected, now there is going to be and endless flow of increased taxes from those who furnish the jobs in this country, because of a re-distribution mentality that is in total control of the government.
