Twitter has expanded the ability for me to make money. You have to be careful to be social and not to spam people.

On one of my profiles I have over 1200 followers and growing. I have made online friends with some and will continue to be social and not try to get them to purchase my products. They have seen my sites, they know what I do. It is up to them to come to me if they want something. That is attraction marketing.

I love Twitter but it can be very time consuming if you are not careful.

I just delivered a half-hour teleconference presentation for my coaching group about the use of Twitter for marketing purposes.

For most businesses, there are several angles that you should consider in your approach to using it. And you do need an angle. If all you're doing is telling people to buy your product or how great your product is, then you're spamming.

You need to able to answer the questions:

What do I have to say?

Why would anyone follow me?

Other than marketing, Twitter does have some uses as a quasi-instant message platform and to broadcast messages to your followers.

In the professional world everyone is an expert at something. With Twitter if your claiming your an expert and your not the people will know online. You need to be transparent and hide nothing. Just pay it forward with free advise and help others to hopefully gain a following as an expert in your field.

Soon...they will do business with you.
