Feel free to grab quotes from anywhere on the net. All you need is to copy the quote and who said it.
I personally read 3-5 quotes every 2 hours during the business day to remind myself to reach for greatness, and I look forward to turning this discussion into a section of the network that will inspire us all.
"Success is getting what you want. Happiness is wanting what you get."
Dale Carnegie
An inexhaustible good nature is one of the most precious gifts of heaven, spreading itself like oil over the troubled sea of thought, and keeping the mind smooth and equable in the roughest weather.- Washington Irving
Adventure isn't hanging on a rope off the side of a mountain. Adventure is an attitude that we must apply to the day to day obstacles of life - facing new challenges, seizing new opportunities, testing our resources against the unknown and in the process, discovering our own unique potential.
- John Amatt
My college basketball coach had a sign up in the lockeroom that read:
"A PERSON SHOW'S WHO THEY ARE....BY WHAT THEY DO....WITH WHAT THEY HAVE"
It's been quite a few years but I've always remembered those words.
They've served me well many times. Tough games as the "runt" on the team....school....military service....family....my business....and just life in general.
To me it means victory doesn't always...or have to...go to the person who is bigger, faster, smarter, richer, more educated, more experienced, better equiped, and so on.
Victory goes to the person who makes the most of whatever skills, values, tools, and circumstances they've been blessed with.
It doesn't take a Harvard MBA or birth with a silver spoon to be successful. It doesn't give you an edge.
Most of our success stories (business and life) are people of modest "have" who made the most of that.
Victory is also defined by the person.
The victory takes the form of any improvement in one's life .... defined by that person....and achieved by making the most of their "have".
