I consider myself still new to Internet Marketing. I have been doing this for almost 7 months. I knew nothing about the Industry and was forced to stay home and take care of my 90 y/o Mom who suffers of Dementia. I discovered Internet Marketing and feel very passionate about it. It has been the best business that I had ever undertaken. In the passed, I worked and made everyone else rich but myself. So I decided to work for myself.

In the beginning I had to put my 'feelers' out to the Internet Industry because I had to start somewhere. Since then I had joined almost every Internet Marketing business you could think of, which was'nt bad at the time. My emails started flowing in at about 50-100 every day but now I get about 1000. Suddenly, due to the recession, most Marketers are giving away or selling their products to make us 'millionaires' or so they claim.

Not a day goes by that I am not inundated with the 'best money making secrets' that 'no one knows about'. Where have all these 'secrets' suddenly appeared from. Why have they been kept from the general public or the 'newbies' until now? Are'nt we supposed to learn these 'secrets' from the beginning.

There has never been, in my opinion, so much knowledge availabe on the Internet as there is now. I was guilty of spending money on most of these programs until the next big 'secret' was divulged. I look back now and realize how foolish I was. I have stopped buying all these products and now only work with Matt LaClear who is showing me everything that I had not learnt from all the Marketing Gurus.

I have joined the forums as he instructed and am learning more from him that all the secrets out there.

Stop! and think of what you're doing spending all that money. I know, I did.
If theres one thing I can recommend to you is join Matt LaClear's free course. He makes you understand that there are no secrets out there and not to feel intimated by all these Gurus and just take one little step at a time.

Is there anyone else who has experied what I have? please answer.

To your success

Hi Jay,

I'm a student of Matt's also. I don't think too much knowledge is dangerous, but I do think too much information is. I've been trying and learning Internet Marketing for about a year now. I haven't had much success. I was definitely guilty of jumping from one thing to another, idea to idea. I was a victim of information overload. Maybe victim is the wrong word. I was the one who caused my dilemma. It got me nowhere. Now I'm learning how to do it the right way.

I think is this business you have to keep learning, day after day. Things change fast online. Traffic generation ideas, SEO... Those change constantly. I do believe now you must build a list. I think that's one of the most important things.

I believe we're in the right place, at the right time.

Hi Richie,

Thank you for your input. Yes I do agree that its supposed to be 'too much information' and not 'too much knowledge'. Knowledge is good and I love learning.

Cheers,
Jay

Jay,

You are not alone that's for sure, I have been one that has been fortunate. I started my high end business almost three years ago with no internet marketing experience. Fortunately, I became linked up with a very successful marketer, being coachable, trainable and having a high level of desire. I became solid and experienced 1 1/2 of success, which allowed for me to walk away from a six figure income job. My Internet Marketing knowledge was limited and caught up with me after some changes took place with the algorithms with Google Adwords. Once my success came to a halt, I began investing in every program that I came across recognizing I had a need to expand my knowledge about Internet Marketing.

I opted in to Matt LaClear over a year ago with no investment in his systems, Matt along with many other marketers continued to send emails weekly. I realized that it was time to open my eyes to some of these Internet Marketing approaches. I responded to Matt and have been pleased with the information that I am consistently absorbing. There is this Unsubscribe link at the bottom of all those emails that you and I receive, that link is there for a reason. Take action and unsubscribe from some if not all of the other programs because those emails will continue and I believe we are receiving the know we need in Matt's program.

As Richard states, we have to be open to continue learning, it doesn't mean to subscribe to all and attempt to do multiple programs or jumping from one to the other. We are in the right place at the right time.

Jay, do you have the confidence in this program to cut down on some of those emails by unsubscribing from the other so called gurus?

Hello Ellery,

Thank you for your great input. I realize that what I really meant was 'information' and not 'too much knowledge'. As I mentioned I do love to learn and that is what keeps me going. It really keeps me sane especially with Mom's Dementia and her repeating the same thing over and over again. So sitting in front of my computer gives me the sanity I need.

As for my emails, I overlooked the fact that I could just 'unsubscribe'. Its funny how we take little things for granted. Thank you, I will do that. Perhaps I won't feel so overwhelmed as I normally do when I start working in the morning. I am beginning to focus and it is becoming a lot easier for me to work now.

Thank you again, Ellery for your help,
Jay

Hi Jay,

First of all, you are not the only one who is finding her way with "trial and error". There is so much information available, and all with the same message, that it is somewhat difficult to judge which of all may be good for you and your situation!

I agree with Richie that you never can have too much knowledge. Your knowledge and life experiences are the base of filtering out all the overflooding information.
When I myself oversee all the available information I listen to my mind and intuition. This way I filter out what might be useful for me.

It's good you are one of Matt's apprentices. With his directions you will find your way in how to succeed with your own businesses!

Hi Jay,

Excellent topic! OMG! I get so much crap in my inbox. From marketers who want me to "try this for free and then pay after the grace period" or "this will make you a cazillionaire in a matter of weeks!" and on and on. I delete this stuff because I know it is someone preying on those who are trying to build businesses and see us as vunerable folks. It is not only information overload but visual stress that is useless. I have unsubscribed from so many of these things. What is funny is that I never found them but they found me. Just looking at that stuff makes my head spin. UGH!

Matt is the one I trust. Along with Kathleen Gage. I am part of Matts class as well and have learned a LOT. I have started to implement his teachings into my daily routine like on Twitter and coming here. It is helping! Plus, Matt is persistent. He will keep you in the loop and give you a chance to build some trust with him......he was sending me stuff six months before I joined his class. He uses good psychology in all of this.

One thing I have learned and the hard way is that if you have to pay anything for one of these "businesses" then its more than likely a scam. A business should pay YOU, not the other way around. Anything asking for money I have learned is crap.
