Hi Lenny & Welcome,

Build it and they will come, someone once said. Is it true? Let me ask you this, how would you know to go there if you didn't know it existed?

In business building awareness is called marketing (we all know that). Marketing can become more challenging depending on your budget (there are other factors as well). One of the exciting things we all heard about the Internet is, "you can reach millions".... oh yeah! Actually this is true, and on a small budget. One of the methods in building awareness and traffic as in the off-line world, is what you are doing here, "Social Networking". I sent you a personal email with some of my opinions on your website.

If you do not have the money for marketing, then I would suggest to just have fun with the site. If you are having a great time working on your site and you love soccer, then you succeed one way or the other.

When it comes to business, especially social networks... At the end of the day, if you do not have the money to invest in advertising or marketing, then it will probably not reach critical mass. Without critical mass you will not have enough interaction to keep the members there, and you will not be able to turn a profit.

Spend the first couple of months building out the content of your social website as a hobby. You will learn a new skill and then you will have a better product that will lead to a better conversion rate on new member sign ups.

Hi Lenny,

I have been using the internet to make money since 1999, in that time i have seen and learn't many ways to get a website in front of eyeballs, good and bad ways.

Apon checking out the site you have posted on your profile (http://www.onefootballworld.com/) my questions are,

1. Are you the controller of this site or are you an affiliate?

2. What marketing methods are you currently using?

As you have limited funds doesn't mean you have no options, there are many free directories out there as well as link exchanges. There is always Traffic Exchanges which are free but time heavy, however the best way to get the word out is the old fashion way, getting out there and telling people about your opportunity (social networks).

No matter how good the software, seo firm, web designer, programmer is you still need to get out there and put your site in front of as many eyeballs as possible.

Local & International Classifieds
Search Engine Submission
Web Groups

Well i hope this helps with creating some ideas and understanding about your problem.
