If you have business cards, then you have to take a look at this very cool and cheap device. It is called the "Card Caddie," and it allows you to distribute your business cards right off of your car or the door to your business.
Here's a few pics of this little marketing wonder in action:
At just under fifteen dollars, this is a no brainer.
3 Ways to use CardCaddie to get almost 100 extra sales a year
1) Place it on your car. This could easily add 12 sales a year just from your car sitting in a parking lot.
2) Place it on your office door. This makes it real easy for anyone who stops by after hours to grab a card with your information on it. Easily 24 sales a year.
3) Place them in the break rooms of executive suites. There are about 100+ executive suite centers in most major cities. All of these offices share one single breakroom with a big refrigerator where you can place a CardCaddie. Easily 50 sales a year.
Please take a look at their webpage and post your comments on what you think of it, and also post any other ways you think it can be used to distribute or market business cards.
FYI, the inventor of this product is actually a member of Sta.rtUp.biz, so feel free to send him a message about getting bulk discounts if you are going to buy more than one. His profile is here: http://sta.rtup.biz/profile/CardCaddie
I thought of this idea a while ago and I can't believe what I am reading !! How cool that someone actually designed this. I'm buying one. How many times do you think someone is reading your car magnets and doesn't have a pen to write down the web address or phone number. Very, very cool!!!
You are only going to lose 10 business cards if kids take them. Who knows maybe their parents will find them in their room and then lead to a sale. Business cards come very cheap for 1000 a box. I honestly have never gotten through an entire box of 1000 before it was time to update them with new info.
The cardcaddie is held on with VHB (very high bond) tape from 3m used for vehicles. It cannot be easily taken. If you wanted to post that. Also it only holds 35 cards.
I personally asked the inventor for the details...
I am always optimistic when I see something that can realistically add money to the bottom line of small businesses in a slow economy. We all have to implement every possible affordable marketing solution over the next year to ensure that our businesses weather the storm.
Let's be pessimistic for a second... Ok, it leads to 1 new client a month. That is 12 clients a year. 36 clients in three years. Not bad for $14.
It is indeed a good idea. It is similar to a "Flyer Box" used by real estate agents to distribute information on a home for sale.
People should couple it with an interactive voice response toll-free number. This service provides you your own 800 number to use on business cards, flyers, etc. When a client calls, they can directly connect to you, leave you a voice mail message, or get faxed information instantly.
Here's the key - the moment the caller hangs up, you are text-messaged or emailed with the caller's phone number, even if it is unlisted or blocked! (works in US only) For info on the IVR company, check out www.AutomaticLeads.com (its about $30 a month and $.04 a min for calls).
If you want to try it for FREE for 30 days, use promo code "SMART"
Good analogy on the flyer box. My wife just made me pull over the other day to grab one for an investment property she was interested in. Simple and effective.
