Good Morning! Reading all the comments have been very interesting indeed!
I think your pic look professional, clean and crisp. However, these days, the traditional head shot is becoming boring and we're all beginning to look like the next person. Using a photo someone shot while you were on vacation, in your backyard or in your living room is not very professional either. There IS a happy medium.
Many entrepreneurs have thrown away their 3 piece suits for a more comtemporary look. Our headshots should be a bit more casual as well. We should look more relaxed and approachable in our professional photos. Add a bit more color so we don't look intimidating or stoggy. A professinal headshot should compel me to want to become your friend, in addition to doing business with you.
There are many fabulous photograhers out there who understand how to shoot a professional yet approachable image. We're in the Web 2.0 century... but our photos are still symbolizing business polices years gone by.
My pic was taken 2 years ago and needs a serious update as well. I'll be interviewing photographers after the holidays. A photographer can make or break you!
I won't rate your pic because mine is not what it should be either. We shouldn't critize people when we have faults of our own.
Healthy eating certainly agrees with you, I assumed you we're in the wellbeing business before I opened your profile... so your picture does what it's meant too. An easy 1o rating from me Suvine.
I'm not surprised by your pic, but it's too typical for my taste. I would lose the shoulders and focus on your face, with an open smile - I bet you've got a great smile.
I've read through the comments and there are numerous remarks about heads being cropped, sometimes it's meant but there is also a strong possibility that uploads are cropped to fit the system - perhaps this should be fixed.
Also, as a social/business site, and given that profile pic's play an important role in promoting one's business, etc., perhaps they should be slightly larger, or even include two slots for a formal and casual shot option.
I rate you 7 from my perspective, but know you could easily make a perfect 10... but I also suggest you add you're name to the left of your title - we're all in the people business at the end of the day.
Great pic. It gives me the idea that you're a happy, positive person and if I needed your service I wouldn't feel shy about contacting you (always a good thing with social networking!). Not intimidating at all.
That blob of something that looks like a paper bag would be better edited out though since it's very distracting. I'm with you on the stuffy photos. I don't like them much at all. I also don't think photos with family members or pets (unless you work with animals of course) are very professional either. Yours is just casual enough. I'll pretend I don't see the blob and give you a 9.
