WOW, I liked this as it brings a picture to my mind helping me understand a bit better, unfortunately the picture is clear but the language (SEO) is foreign (in my mind). Not that I haven't heard the term SEO before, I've heard it plenty, just never could fully understand it effectively.
When I first created my very first web page, www.ourjourneytolife.com it was on the top 3 pages but has now taken a back seat so it seems. I have many new additions on it, the latest being /kids.html and /VisionBoard.html which I thought was good for a "newbie in creating web pages" but I don't see my page listed anywhere despite all the blogging I've been doing in many of the social networks I'm in. Yet when my name is googled, it shows up, but none of my pages.
Can you advise what am I doing wrong? Thanks

Also how do I use RSS? I've read and read but it still hasn't sunk in to my level of understanding. Thanks again

Good afternoon. I have communicated with you before and appreciate suggestions you made about optimizing our web site to get some kind of page ranking. I have done a LOT of the suggested items, I have added content and links to the page, and I am still not seeing any type of page rank. One thing I did notice is that Googlebot's last successful access to my home page was August 18, 2008. Could the ranking not change simply because I have to wait until Googlebot successfully accesses my web page again? If so, is it normal for a span of a month to go by without being accessed? Any additional information you can provide would be appreciated!

All this information is great and a wealth of knowledge on how to get SEO Rankings. It is quite a bit to digest but what he has broken down is very important stuff and getting ranked. I have been blessed with some friends who actually explain this stuff via webinars where you actually get to see a visual while they explain it to you. They teach SEO for a penny a day and you definitely see results after applying what you learn. I definitely like how you have broken down things here in this discussion.
