Today we are going to talk about what
I believe to be is the most important thing in
the sales profession. (which applies to any profession
as well.)

It is very simple, yet so profound;

There are so many things you can do to become
successful in sales, and in business....

There are many practices you need to incorporate
into your daily routine....

There are many bad habits we need to break. ...

And there are many good habits we need to create.

But most important of all, there is one thing you really
need to learn how to do, if you want to become successful
in sales.

And that is:

"Love what you do."

If for some reason you don't love what you do,
Then you have 2 options.

The first one is to move on to something else.

The 2nd option is to LEARN to love what
you do!

Why is this "so important?"

Because it is the main CAUSE of failure!

When a person is "not happy" with what he/she
is doing, they create a "rejection" energy
towards that particular job, activity or thing
he/she is DOING.

The worse part is that they will quickly GET familiar
With that "form of thinking", and begin to do it
Automatically every day.

As a consequence,
They begin to practice "Hate."

This type of PRACTICE generates the bad feeling of hate,
and of course we start "losing more sales", more clients
and more transactions, and we start thinking and asking
ourselves... "what is wrong with people?"

or "They just don't want my
products"

...or "nobody wants this product"!

or "people hate me!"

or "I have bad luck."

AND, if you believe in luck, then YES you have it because you are
creating it.

Remember...we create what happens to us in our life. That is
ONE of our profound powers as HUMAN BEINGS!

Now, lets analyze "good" and "bad luck". We normally say that
We have good luck as soon as we obtain something, right?

And we typically SAY that we have "bad luck" when we
DONT get what we want.

So if we compare this with the "positive" and "negative"
polarities of energy, and we use the principle
of magnetism, it would seem to me like "good luck"
is when we ATTRACT, and "bad luck" is
when we REPULSE.

This means that when we use a
thought of rejection RELATIVE to anything, the end result
"does not" bring us what we want.

This LEADS us to the realization that "love" is the key to ATTRACTION!

You can NOTICE this when a male and female feel the attraction
For each other.

Love also "vibrates" at different levels, which can be weak...

Or it can vibrate very strong, but if there is attraction, there is LOVE.

We never really say, "I want that woman because I hate her."
Actually, if you really hate someone, normally the last thing
you want is to even SEE that person.

The feeling is so bad that we even go to the extent of WANTING to
"avoid contact" with that person entirely.

So if you really WANT to become successful in SALES,
the first practice to begin is loving, or learning
to love sales.

To love sales, or to learn to LOVE it, you just
need a REASON. There are so many reasons for loving
sales, let me help you with a few:

1. It is a profession that is needed in order to "Move" any business in
the entire world!

2. You make "more money" because of your personal efforts, and
On many occasions, also the efforts of others!

3. Every business or company that offers a service or product,
Needs GOOD sales people, and especially needs sales!

4. It will give you a BETTER quality "life style"!

5. More FREE time for you and your loved ones, or the ones you want or
wish to love!

6. SALES is the base of the "economy"!

7. It is fun and interactive!

8. And very "motivational"!

And remember these 4 very important aspects that you need to
Be very clear about in order to be successful in sales!

1. Have a goal (with DEADLINES)
2. Create a strategy
3. Incorporate motivation AND IN-SPIRATION
4. And of course... Something to sale

If you believe in attraction, then you need to believe in love!

Love what you do and you will see a tremendous increase in your
Productivity and you will experience loads of happiness!

So good luck IN SALES , Remember love... love... love.... TO sale.... Sale... sale!

I absolutely agree. I love being a virtual assistant and I love the industry and all its wonderful aspects and possibilities. While I don't have the client base yet that I need to be full time, I do have a good amount of clients and many great acquaintances and friendships that would not have happened if I had not started my business. I have attracted good people and media attention simply by my excitement about my business.

I wish everyone great love and prosperity in 2009.

Thats great.

You're applying that special thing called "love"
and people can feel it!

You are emitting that vibration, and attracting people whom
are interested in your services.

I just read your blog "Love Your Profession" and I truly do! You are absolutely right in all aspects, if you are negative, you create negative energy that others pick up on. It is not bad or good luck, you are responsible for most everything that happens in your business. I have been up against individuals that walk through the door or answer their phone, "With the NO attitude," and had them saying 'Yes' by the end of the conversation! One thing others need to also realizes is that not everybody needs or wants what we have or are offering, period. We need to realize that and stop spinning our wheels. If someone truly cannot or will not utilize what you have, no matter what it is, there are 20 others who Will! I project enthusiasm because I Love my Business and I truly care about others, and it shows! I know I can help, I know the facts, I find out what their needs are and then work from there.
If my business is not for that contact, we both are aware of that fact. Do the next step, listen and offer to assist them and they will assist you by word of mouth and recommendation. I give them the basis of my business, they give me the basis of theirs, we take each others card and share it with others who would be interested in our respective businesses. I created a healthy repore, I did not alienate that individual because we could not take advantage of each others business, but, we both have contacts who could!! Many have become 'contact' acquaintances and even close friends. We have mutually enhanced each others businesses! I am not afraid to endorse someone elses business to those I meet. It does not 'take away' from my business, just the opposite. A potential client may not be able to utilize my business but they appreciate me directing them to a business they need, and they remember me, and tell their other acquaintances who could utilize my business, and vica versa! It turns into a Win/Win situation. The whole idea is to get your business and yourself "remembered,' by your great attitude, business sense/presentation, and "Can Do and Will Succeed, Attitude!' By helping others, you reap 10x what you sow...

Peace, Love, & Prosperity!

Hi Nathan, I love this post because you hit the nail right on the head. To do what you love inspires you to share it with the world and help as many people as you can help along the way. This brings ultimate abundance and prosperity (sales) even though in a lot of regards it is a by factor of doing and sharing what you love with the world. Awesome post!

Much abundance & prosperity,

Saverio

Thanks for you post Nathan!
I also agree but as important that is create sales based on love what you do is the after sales and client care! You need to keep in mind that if and when you are about to fail in sales process your reputation will be gone. Or you need to find some other job.
Internet is so quick and effective channel that in no time you are out. So take care and pamper your clients also after actual sale. Keep your charge in optimum level and don´t rip off your clients -don´t become greedy! If you love what you do you might not find it so difficult to offer your services cost efficiently? I have created sales through free favors. "First one is for free and then on we will making business as usual." I know I have helped many start-up companies to reach their first phase. By that way I have also get to know them better and actually make friends with them. It is not much of my time and client is happy. And I certainly have got one client more to promote my services.
So my advice in order to establish your client base do some favors for no charge. After all you will get some reference and free promoter for your services.
I have been out with my clients for a beer or two and we have discussed anything else but business. It is such a great way to get to know your precious client.
And remember you client is also your reference out there for potential new customers :)

All the best:

I agree. You have to love what you do whether it is your job or a second profession. I work part time and I love the job I am doing and the people I interact with on a daily basis. I feel it is important to love the job you are in but also enjoy the people around you. This is an important aspect. In regards to a second profession I am an author and I love to write. I constantly find topics on which to write. I am working on two books, constantly updating my web site, writing articles and participating in and joining network sites such as this.

Your blog is right on point. Doing something that you do not love is almost impossible. I love event planning and being creative. It's a rush almost. When I've designed a new centerpiece, or come up with a more creative, cheaper way of doing something I'm over joyed. I know that I have just helped someone have the unique look they are looking for and saved them financially.

It's fun just thinking about it. It's also very contagious. Others feed off of your excitement and trust more when they feel your expertise. You do become a expert when you love what you are doing.
You study more, exchange tips, and grow. I hope everyone feel the way I do it's fun.

Hi,
You are truly inspirational! Thank you for asking me to read you 9 steps to success in sales.
I hate a unique product. I sell a DVD about the paranoiac investigation I have done. There are many paranormal Dvds out there, but none like mind! I track, hunt and heal spirits!
love ya,
