The Secret to MLM Success

What is the secret to MLM success does anyone really know ???

If you know what the secret is then post it here !!

I know what my secret is and i am going to reveal it to you.....

Now you may already know this because its not the BIG secret that is going to miraculously make you an overnight success nor instantly make you rich.

So what is my secret to MLM Success ? How do you make it work ?

When i started MLM about 6 months ago i learned something VERY important, well i actually figured it out for myself, anyway needless to say i became a success at MLM and my name was at the top of the Leaderboard week after week.

My secret was this.... i knew most people didn't succeed with MLM, and i knew if most people didn't succeed then their life span as an Active member was short lived.

So i knew the only way to succeed was to..... Not spend all my time keeping my Downline motivated ( although that is good to do ) it was NOT to sponsor my Friends and Family, it was NOT to buy leads or Training material that would tell me what i already knew, it was NOT about the 5 foot rule etc etc etc.

NO none of these, i discovered the Secret of success in MLM is Simple but at the same time extremely Difficult.

The Secret is to build your Downline FAST.

The faster you can build your downline the more successful you will be.

I was sponsoring between 5 - 10 new members every week for the first 3 months, and it worked the faster i was able to build my downline the more commissions i made and the quicker my residuals grew without members dropping out.

That is it, if you want to be successful with MLM that is what you need to do, and don't rely on other people building your downline for you because it is your personal referrals that count.

Well There is a secret to this amazing referral marketing concept. Remember this business is like a religion, it is exclusive, you must protect it as apose to overselling it. This requires a leader to oversee the "cultic" organization. So when you say "don't rely on other people building your downline" is wrong, because this business needs precisely just that, a leader to build downlines.

The hottest website or product in the planet cannot sign up prospects, a leader does!

A leader in Network marketing understands that this is all about other peoples success. Other people's success is his passion knowing his own success depends on theirs. Your success in MLM is not determined by how big someone elses downline is or by someone else placing new members under you, if you are relying on the guy above you to build your downline for you, you will fail !!

Basically your downline could be over 1000 members strong but if they are all sponsored by other members and not you, then you won't earn a cent.

What i mean when i say don't rely on other people building your downline is .... unless you are personally sponsoring others into your organization, then you will not make any money.

Look and study your Comp plan you will find you don't make any money by being passive, not sponsoring other members and relying on others to build your downline eg placing members under you.

To be successful with MLM you MUST build your OWN downline of personally sponsored members.

You are correct in some respects i agree that your success in MLM depends on the success of your personally sponsored downline members, and your longevity depends on it.

So if your success and longevity in MLM depends on your personally sponsored members success, then you need to become a leader to help them become successful.

The only way you can become a leader and help others be successful is by being successful yourself.

One of the best ways to be successful in MLM is to learn from someone who already is successful, however most of the guys you see at the top of the leaderboards will teach you ways to be successful but will never reveal the secret that is actually the reason why they are successful.

So look for someone who isn't pushing the same tired old scripted tripe, and look for a young fresh talent.

Someone who has come into MLM recently who's name is always on the leaderboard, these New guys are the next MLM stars of the future, and are usually willing to reveal a few of their secrets.

These guys are willing to give you tips and tricks that Far out weigh what the old hats are doing, that is because these guys understand how the New world works, and instead of moving with the times and doing the next best thing, these new guys are starting the new best thing, and if you learn from these guys you start using techniques that take the old guys a while to catch up to, so you will be ahead of the pack.

So look out for these guys, someone around mid 20's - mid 30's who has only come into MLM recently having never before been involved, their name is on the leaderboard within the first few weeks of joining, and they are willing to reveal a few secrets.

I am not here to argue with you. I wish you all the success in the world with your business. I think we are trying to get the same point across here. We both want to tell people the truth about MLM.

I misunderstood you when you said you were an MLM Rebel. I appologize for that. What I should have asked you was this: What do you put into the term "MLM Rebel?". Now that I know what you put into it, I can see your viewpoints better.

With your meaning of the term "MLM Rebel", my good friend and mentor Michael Dlouhy is also a MLM Rebel. The difference is that he took the time to figure out the real truth about MLM and is teaching it to anyone who are willing to listen. He has spent years evaluating and systemizing it. After failing forward for 12 years, he has been able to make a fulltime income in MLM since 1991. That experience is put into the ebook you are reading.

One more thing: It's fully possible to make good money in MLM while still being totally unselfish and without any greed and ego. Everyone in MLM wants to make money, but to be hugely successful in MLM and be able to build it once, build it big, and build it to pay your grandchildren, you need more than a system...you need to build a culture that people want to be a part of because it helps them learn more about themselves and others on a personal level.

The secret to network marketing lies in the fact that there are no secrets...
I personally believe that the reason for failure lies in the fact that many people are buying "hope". They make a decision to invest in a business model without being informed of how much work is needed to succeed, direction, a set of instructions, mindset, or ways of marketing (ever see an as that says:"work from home, new X Potion taking the world by storm and YOU can profit from it..." ugh
Well, they spent the 120 for it, it didn't work...SCAM!!!
The real issue here isn't the fact that the internet is full of scams, but that people automatically change their personality when it comes to business. They try to market, but really don't know how. They take the idea of "home business", to mean "oh when I feel like it, I will do something for an hour or two..."
And that is good and well IF they already have a list of a few thousand already on their autoresponder (and of course the DONT, they just started) I believe that most people who are working a full time job, and building a business fail to realize that their business needs as much attention as their job (8hr. shift? = 8 hr. business. makes sense)...(I'm getting off topic here..)
So, what is the "secret"...first understand your business model (which we established is MLM...)
Ok, well heres what I've used to grow HUGE lists - "Lead with the greed, and give them what they NEED"
I lead my marketing campaigns with the end in mind, or where the prospect is at. There are 7 common things people are looking for in a home business. 1) Job Security 2)Family Time 3) get out of debt 4) money for retirement 5) Quality of life 6) Quit Job 7) Tax savings

So, the first thing I do is look at the 3 psychological steps my prospect is going to go through before he/she joins... Expose (hear the message), Involve (must be in their best interest ie. autoresponder, phonecall about their challenges, your history, whats worked for you, what are your suggestions about their business they're already in etc.) and finally upgrade (they actually spend money with you, AFTER the relationship has been built can take 3-5 calls - this is a MAJOR overlook in the industry)

But they will only do so after you create the picture of what their life could be like with your product.

Heres a 27 word phrase to think about: People will do anything for those who encourage their dreams, justify their failures, confirm their suspicions, relieve their fears, and throw rocks at their enemies.

I never discuss numbers, because facts don't stir emotions. People need what they need, and it isn't numbers... 95% of people are guilty of taking what they like to marketplace... doesn't work out for the majority.
Dani Johnson says that excuses are just well placed lies, but I believe excuses are convenient statements we make up to relieve ourselves of responsibilities to do anything. We're human, we all do it but you can't make excuses and money at the same time - " Iwill do what others wont today, so I can have what others wont tomarrow because I can't make excuses and money at the same time" (say everyday in the mirror for 21 days)

The secret to MLM?!? Mindset AND Marketing (and massive consistant action)

We all want to help our down lines and feel that they in turn will help theirs. I have been using the Power of 3 like in the pay it forward movie but not everyone gets the concept.
Sooooo.... I like you have re-focused on building my down line and then making available the process I am using to my team so if there are some who will follow my lead they too can do as I do and not just as I say...

First of all your actual product needs to be in high demand and unique and the company must have a good pay structure. I burned through nine companies with wonderful products but lousy comp plans. If an average person cannot make money the first month, there's no point getting involved no matter how good the products are. Losing money the first month is a sure recipe for disaster.

Next you need persistence. I have never talked to a single person (and I mean the millionaires) who said MLM was easy. Most of them wanted to quit many times. It BECOMES easy though.

The only companies where I've seen above average success was with those who had a simple plan: get on a 5 minute call, watch an online video, etc and sign up. Most people HATE those videos that just talk about money and not the product. You know what I mean--those websites that you go to because something looks interesting but then you need to fill out a form to find out what it is. No way in this day and age do people need crap like that. Be honest from the start that it's MLM and be proud of it. Don't hide what you're doing!

Remember that all MLM really is is a business model of a whole ton of people ordering products every month. How you get the people on the products is called marketing and there are many ways to do that, whether you're a social person who likes to do home parties or an introvert who prefers online marketing. Learning marketing and learning to create your own leads and learning what to say to them is crucial for LONG term success. It's very easy to sponsor new people but without some regular contact/training between you and your downline, things will quickly fall apart and people stop ordering product if they're not earning some money to help pay for it.

Keep the end in mind and do the work and DECIDE to become part of the 5% that are successful! It basically just boils down to the decision. Okay, you're right--there is one thing! Decision will automatically lead to action.

Very interesting comments. My wife has recently become involved in MLM. I Think she is doing well. She has not as yet started any recruiting. She has focused on understanding the company its business strategy and the products.
Any advice from your vast experience would be helpful

Things are very different today with the internet.My greatest success in this new venture is a combination of warm market networking and finding people who are internet savy.
