Well, it seems every man and his dog are Twittering.
With that in mind and to help promote SUp's, should we not be using Twitter to promote this network?

Possibly the administrators to start a dedicated Group for all SUp Twitters?
Maybe design and supply a Twitter background promoting SUp's and every member use it in their Twitter accounts?
To build SUp's, every member should Tweet about the network at least once a day to encourage new members and every member should click to follow each other. It would look so impressive to new visitors to see SUp Twitters with over 300,000 followers each!!

Anyway, that's my imput. Have you any thoughts on utilizing Twitter to promote SUp's?

Kind regards,
Steve

I agree it would be great to have that type of following. It is just the matter of educating people on using twitter and on how to build a following.

Honestly, you are probably the guy to help others understand how to use twitter. You should probably start a group for twitter education while marketing your twitter product. My guess is that a big portion of your group members would end up purchasing your twitter product once you teach them the basics on how to use it.

If I see some good traffic in the analytics from twitter, then I would definitely start promoting your group across other key areas of the website.

Thanks COO (if I can call you COO), thanks for your reply and proposed support. Yes, I'm going to put a plan together on a Twitter education/promotion Group. I'll also aim to get everyone in the Group to promote SUps and follow each other. Anyway, I need to mull this over for a day or so to get a clear plan of attack.

Regards,
Steve.

Just a quick calculation. If every SUp member made one tweet a day promoting their Profile on Twitter, that would amount to something like: 40,000+ members x 31 days per month = 1,240,000 tweets total per month!!

Surely that would cause a massive curiosity among the millions of Twitters and inevitably cause a substantial increase in SUp new members. Now wouldn't that be good for all of us here.

Which made me think of a possible new Group name: "Twitter Invasion".
I'll start this, unless someone has a better name?

What do you think?

Now, now, ruredfox, let's not mix footie with business - even if you are the Premier boys (for now, that is).

I think Tweeting about SUp is a good idea.

I'm not sure how much of a good idea this is. But, maybe we could ask friends on our respective profile to tweet about our business and in turn we tweet about theirs? That way we promote our businesses for one another. Does anyone think this might be a good idea?

But, I do agree that there needs to be some kind of education on how to effectively utilize Twitter.

My suggestion would be to tweet every post or update to your profile on sta.rtup.biz. Most active members will post a blog or update their profile. When they do, they can post the action and the link so that they are directly promoting theirselves and not just the website.

I have been on Twitter for a while now and my suggestions are:

1. Sta.rtUp have it's own Twitter account. This account should be managed by the main founders of this site. (This is what I did for All Realms).
2. All members of this site could follow the Sta.rtUp account which in turn would have other people see the Sta.rtUp account (Members/followers could retweet the messages when they like)
3. Set up feeds for the Sta.rtUp account to post to Twitter. This is great, I have this being done for my site as well as for some other websites I help on and the response is great
4. Have the Sta.rtUp site listed on other networking sites. One that I would highly recommend is LinkedIn, why is there not a group set up there? I would join.

Keep in mind that everyone uses Twitter differently. The way you use it is up to the account holder. (This is why I have one for personal and one for business)

Just my two $0.02.

If you would like help/learn more about Twitter check out my blogs on All Realms and/or follow me on Twitter @jayphilips. (Sorry I'm not a diamond member on this site so I can't put direct links to twitter for you)

Thanks,
Jay

Right, we are getting some feedback from members.
Norine - thank you for your input - great.
Jay, I like your 2 cents worth, some really good suggestions and proven methods.

COO has offered full support and help in getting the idea off the ground.
I'm continually giving this thought so that Sta.rtUp's can get maximum exposure from this Twitter project.

Will be back in touch,
Steve.
