Hi there,

Recently I featured Sta.rtUp.Biz on my social network Area Light. I modified the badge and put it in context of my profile text. What I want to say is I provide five star social networking in this community. So what is it and what does this mean to you?

First, all you need to do is post a SUp badge on your site, and you then become a featured member. I don't necessarily feel featured, but the cool badge says my rating is five stars!

Second, determine what use you can get from publicly supporting Sta.rtUp.Biz, because you are automatically associated with the badge. I say, post it on your profile and put some context to it such as what five star social networking means for you.

Third, figure out what use you can have for posting the badge outside the network. Certainly, you are pointing people to the network. You are also pointing them to you. I say by default, that makes you a guest host for this social network.

So in a nutshell, what is it I do to provide five star social networking? I can tell you this- five star social networking is what I do all the time on my own social network. I have outreach activities I do, such as my group Modern Business Exploration. There, I host interviews where I offer what I can to help them optimize their experience.

I am very much excited for the opportunity to feature my next guest exploration, Gerald Simmons. This social networking pro is all over the place brightening other member's days. He has got the "King of Prosperity" motivational network. I go there sometimes just to enjoy a taste of motivation for myself. He's also got his own outreach project called Motivational Corner. I'm looking forward to firing up the segment on my social network too. Gerald Simmons produces his own brand of motivational inspiration, and he's networked with countless of online business startups to that effect. He has an upcoming motivational book, "The GPS Success Guide". I also think it's motivating to learn about the team he is putting together called the 3Kings.So I'm getting motivated just thinking about this, because I know Gerald Simmons to be another five star social networker.

I've also got a segment I'm working on that group called The Company, and there I want to feature a discussion about what kind of vision could you share in the company of other social networkers on Sta.rtUp.Biz. There, I plan to greet every member with my time to learn all about them and motivate them how they can make a difference in accomplishing what they set their mind to. So you could say the business I have been building, includes a heavy dose of motivational aspect. Who better to talk about this than Gerald Simmons?

You could say, that's just my way of social networking on Sta.rtUp.Biz. What qualifies to five star social networking for you?

Best,

Anthony Reardon

Hi Yolanda,

I looked into your profile and enjoyed your message. On your profile, under your photo, you should note an option to get your badge. Follow that and you end up getting a code that you can embed in your text box on your profile.

Myspace can be a little more tricky. Generally, anything you want to embed, you do it directly through your edit profile boxes. It used to be you needed to insert code at the bottom of your "About Me" box, but they may have a new feature for "customize profile" that might cover this. I found Myspace to be interesting enough to set up on, but have decided to keep mine simple so I don't have to keep doing the groundwork and research to figure out how to do things. I plan on using my page as a "Releases" segment to announce products, services, activities, and content segments that I do. So the blog feature is all I really need. I had to do my homework, but eventually figured out how to customize my profile and remove everything else that was unneeded. Hope that helps.

So what qualifies "five star social networking" to you? The badge says you are rated as such, but doesn't go into what that means! If you decide to post this on your page like I did, then you'll be promoting the standard. Seems like your message has some interesting aspects about what you look for in social networking and how you go about it. Personally, I recognize the casual nature of networking on a personal level to build relationships. On a professional level, I like to get to the point too.

Best,

Anthony
