What is the Best Way to Get Website Traffic?

I think this is a great question that we can all share and learn from answering and reading everyone's responses.

I talk about my business and read everything I can regarding how to do these things you talk about, but due to my ignorance in understanding some of the jargon, I am in a daze. RSS is essentially a feed that pulls the title and description of online content. Your blog will have an RSS feed. So will twitter, facebook, etc. Many people will use a service called FeedBurner, owned by google, to create a widget to use that has the last 5-10 links in the feed.; ▶ Reply to This

If I have linked up Twitter with other sites such as Facebook and linked in, is that an RSS feed? I have been strugglng to understand RSS feeds for a long timel.

Click on it, and you will see the RSS feed for this page.

Having RSS feeds allows you to syndicate your content (others can subscribe to it or place it on their website for content). When someone uses your RSS feed on their website it will increase your website's value with google.

I use word press and have blogs on my own domains. So if I want to move an rss feed to my blog and have the content syndicated there, I just right click the rss feed button and copy the link then I open my word press dashboard, click on appearance, then
widgets and find the rss feed widget and paste in the rss feed and give it a title. It then syndicates the content from the feed into my blogs sidebar.

That's much better than just subscribing to a blog feed and using a reader to read the content. I'm able to add to my blog's content in less than five minutes and I don't have to type it all myself. It's also a great way to avoid carpal tunnel.; ▶ Reply to This

BTW, Matt Cutt announced that sculpting has "evaporated" (nofollow is no longer regarded). Not sure if that is 100%, but it should change SEO and Google rankings as we know it.; ▶ Reply to This

An RSS document (which is called a feed, web feed, or channel) contains either a summary of content from an associated web site or the full text. In simple terms let's say you have a Blog at Blogger and you place an RSS Feed here on Your profile at Startup, you will add the URL of your blog at Blogger to the RSS feed, this in turn will place updated information from your Blog at Blogger to your profile here for your friends or visitors to read about what you're also doing at Blogger.
