Another terrific post from SUp.biz, COO. I am impressed by the tranparancy, value of the content for my use, and the interactivity built into the segment.
I personally might rephrase the question to, "What is the best kind of web traffic to get?"
SEO: If you want massive traffic then the main players like Google are who you should direct your attention. Sta.rtUp.Biz is a terrific example of that. I found it on Google. If you want a certain kind of traffic, then you have to shape your outreach to connect with those people. I'm doing a lot of research on "intelligent search" which is popping up all over the place from WikiSearch, Buzz, and most recently Microsoft's first ever "decision engine". I want web traffic that is impressed about what they find when they do find me, and are happy to invite their friends for more of the same.
Content: If you want massive interaction, then post intelligent questions based on your niche market's interests, preferences, and needs. Sta.rtUp.Biz features some great online social networking content such as what you see on the forum categories of General Business and Management, SEO, Financing, Legal sections etc. Even if what you find online is predominantly a "me" mentality, those are the people that will substantiate your network activity with their participation. I've been developing my site on the notion of taking that even further...publishing content that really features each person and helps them to establish an impressive online social presence. this is something I think you can do through example, which will encourage the kind of substantive interaction I find desireable in my web activity.
Media: Sta.rtUp.biz does a great job bringing in media, and I enjoy feeding in external site activity and blogs to my profiles and groups here. RSS Feeds, send out and bring in media. So set yourself up channels for distribution and put some production quality behind your media. Get up to speed with making, embedding, and sharing media. The more you want to connect with a niche market, the more it behooves you to share relevant media. A great RSS in is the perfect conversation starter. Alongside intelligent search, I think you will find customizable interfaces. You can create your own social network, and if you open yourself up to popular media such as you see in entertainment sites, you've got all you need to blast yourself with traffic. From there, it's just a matter of focussing in on the media that represents your interests, and engaging people to connect through it.
Best,
Anthony Reardon

Thanks for those articles. I have been reading a lot on this subject since I started my own business a few months ago, and I found this information very useful!

This is great advice although as an Online Marketing consultant for Small Business owners, I find that most of them are completely lost when you start talking about this sort of thing. To help them out, I find it's more efficacious to put together an online marketing program that lets them contribute to the content and keyword choices so they feel I'm promoting their products or services the way they want, and then I handle all the technical stuff like submissions to article directories, list directories, social media and the like.
You may also add my blog to your list of blogs with "do-follow" tags. I get about 3,000 unique visitors per month so it behooves people to comment on my blog.
add articles to your mix. I have attached my article. This article was made possible using the services in Plug-In Profit Site by Stone Evans
Want to Start Your First Business? Make it Online!
Starting a home business in the midst of a worldwide recession may seem counter-intuitive, but Internet entrepreneur Andrea Scafidi has the answer: Go online.
I'm on page one now for Money Merge Account but I am still and always will be a student of seo. Hey, I'm Steven Eric Orris; my initials are SEO. So thanks for the info, I can always use help getting to and staying on page one. And who doesn't want more traffic, right? Thanks so much.
Like everything else, there is no one best way to do it. This is because there are so many variables to consider. Different sites have different goals and different content. Each of us has to diligently identify and experiment with various combinations of SEO, newsletters, blogs, forums, news releases, etc to drive traffic to our sites. But, that's only part of it. Once you get the visitors, your content has to be so outstanding that they won't want to leave. Your call to action must be so compelling that people will jump into the sales process and complete whatever it is that you want them to do.
Don't let anyone tell you there is a best way. There isn't.
Getting traffic to your site has gone from a black are to a science, here are my top tips for getting traffic through organic search:
If you have a lot of the right keywords, used in real sentences, distributed well throughout the site and in addition links from other relevant sites, you will stand an excellent chance of being ranked highly in organic search. But it does take time to build this ranking up.
Make sure that your site is submitted to Google, Yahoo, these will automatically submit to others.
Develop a Keyword Strategy - using words and phrases that people actually use to search for your services.
Use keyword phrases instead of single words, but develop a long term keyword strategy.
Multiple Keywords, it’s good practice to structure your site around the keywords you want to target, use a separate page for each keyword.
Use your keywords frequently but do not over use, target of keyword density of 2% across the entire site.
Only target one keyword per page if at all possible.
Use Keywords in links and headings.
Try to use keywords more often at the start of the page than at the end.
Have a legitimate back link strategy.
Understand where competitor links are coming from.
Look for link partners.
I have a unique & exciting way to maximise web traffic. I use my Talking Product Videos combined with an exciting service called Attain Response.
Talking Product Videos
I take clipart, a photograph of an animal, cartoon character, or a product, and make them talk on videos for Internet & mobile phones. Recently the Christian Resources Exhbitiion company used one of my videos to attact journalists to a big exhibition at Sandown Park. The video, of a whale talking to Jonah, was sent to the journalists mobile phones. I produced the video for Teimlo, a UK based company that specialises in hosting web sites for mobile phones.
Attain Response
Attain Response is an exciting email marketing tool. It enables you to insert videos into your email newsletter campaigns. In addition, you can set up live video web casts, set up autoresponders, track repsonses to your email campaigns, & much more. You can even tick an option that will send you an email when your video has been viewed.
Talking Product Videos & Attain Response
I am able to insert my Talking Product Videos in any newsletters I email. For instance, I could promote a car showroom with a car talking on video, or attract sponsors to animal related charities with a talking dog video.
When someone clicks on the video picture in the email, the whole newletter is displayed in a web page (hosted by Attain Response), with the video playing. It is absolutely brilliant!
