2. An "invisible mentor" is a unique leader who you can learn things from by observing them. The phrase was coined by Washington State University Professor Karen L. Peterson. I have taken the concept and expanded it, and with internet and other online technologies the process is much easier. Not having had a traditional mentor up until recently, I realized that I was mentored by the books I read and the interviews that I conducted. The Invisible Mentor Blog uses information (book summaries and reviews, interviews of accomplished people, tips and tricks, resources and articles) to help readers be their best selves. Also, readers are encouraged from time-to-time to choose five unique leaders who they can learn things from. In this instance they would read all the books written by and about their invisible mentors, they would listen to interviews, speeches and presentations and so on given by their mentors.
