I started Pink Lemonade Boutique Bags as a way to help provide financial support and stay home with my children. I hope to achieve financial independence someday. My daughter has Down Syndrome, so I would like to find myself at a point where I can spend more time with her/her therapies and not spend it all working.

I started my business to get away from the rat race of corporate work and "center" my life, be more "me" and less competitive. I had to become somewhat of a minimalist to do it, but the life style is much better suited for me.

I work for freedom of self expression and the opportunity to share more of life with my family and friends. Everyone I meet becomes a new friends, not a competitor or rival.

I started Brand-Yourself.com to help students get the job that they want and deserve. There are so many kids out there who do great things, but dont know how to show it, especially to a prospective employer. We want to teach students how to properly display their best qualities and traits online, to create their own web presence, so when someone searches for them, they will be able to control what comes up.

Being my first venture, I have had a lot of fun. Working with your best friends can be difficult but also very rewarding.

Good Morning all
Its been a hard year i think you will alll agree,global scale, but life goes on, but the gloom and doom is not the reason for this blog.
I have been in retail for over 25 years, and decided to branch out into Electronics and was scammed on my first purchase over the net which is why i started www.electron-world.com

I recently started a new business and have spent a lot of time and effort setting it up not to mention money.

Here is the journey.
In early 2008 I started looking on the Internet for some product to sell to bring in a little extra cash to keep us off the bred line and afford a trip or two with the wife and kids, nothing flash just a change of scene..... so after a couple of months I had found a couple of suppliers in China with some branded electronics and was cautious as i was new so I ordered a couple of items and duly sent my money, never to be seen again yep i was scammed, thank fully not for a lot of money, buy enough to get me pretty peeved, but I learned a very valuable lesson.

At this point I discovered Firetrust and fraudwatchers UK, who have a fantastic list of scam sights and sites to avoid if you are looking to buy products, excellent community service, then I discovered the wholesalers forum and discovered that I was not the only one in the world that had been taken for a ride, as I read through the posts, it became clear that some people had lost vast amounts of money, but were still in search for those illusive branded electronics to sell on their various Internet auctions..... but were a little scared of the market and payment systems available, (if you get a chance you should have a look at some of these forums to see what goes on in the search for the elusive gadget)

Having been scammed myself i decided to do something about it, and take my quest a little further.

I heard the voice of my late grandmother saying, " Max if you are going to do something, do it properly or don't do it at all". sound advice.

More months of due diligence, phone calls, flights and meetings in foreigner countries with suppliers and distributors I have the makings of a new business venture supplying the elusive Branded Electronic to the known world.
Next comes the task of sticking it all in a nice little attractive package they call a website, test it, play with it, change it, watch it all disappear at the stroke of a key, then there is all the legal conformity of adding the safe payment gateways to your site, your PayPal your Visa Your Mastercard. These are all in place to give the client the security of knowing their money is safe and if there were any problems they could get there money back.
No sane scammer would offer these payment methods because if they did, they wouldn't make any money, as it would all be charged back when the goods were not received.

There it is all finished and shiny and all working and linking in and out and perfect.

Time to go live.........................

I had created a safe secure channel and distribution service for my friends the Consumer Electronics hunters.

Choosing a name for your business is always hard, and even harder on the Internet, the moment you plug the perfect name into the domain name search, it says NO NOT AVAILABLE, and offers you a number of lame extensions.
Around No 3 on my list was www.electron-world.com and YES it was available, I quickly plugged it into the Google search, and sure enough not found...... name chosen and paid for that was a great day I had a new name a brand new shiny site and just a couple more tests to do before I went live, I was really quite excited......

Going Live:

For those of you that have launched a website you will understand the process of going into your back end admin area and ticking a box and selecting save a little line comes up site ACTIVATED. More exciting stuff.

Now I was told buy my web developer that it will take time to climb up the search engines as the spiders, crawlers and bots will come into your site and look for relevant information to link you through the world wide web, so not to expect to see your name at the top of the page straight away.

THE IRONY:

I now had my shiny new site available for the world to see and come and buy Electronics at wholesale price and buy with confidence with the payment systems in place, and having met the suppliers and distributors face to face I was confident that this was going to be a great service and a changing point in my life.

Excitedly I pulled up my Google front page and typed in www.electron-world.com and hit search.

0.25 of a second later google had found 1-10 of 420 results.

I quickly glanced at the page and there it is at the top of the page...........................

ebay.co.uk Guides List of scam Websites from China or Hong Kong.....

and below that another 9 sites claiming that www.electron-world.com was a scam site.
My jaw dropped to the floor...quickly onto page 2 more scam site messages in varying languages,
and then finally at the bottom of page 2 there was the portal to my shiny new site.

Turns out that my URL had been used as a site to sell counterfeit goods back in early 2007, but none of that came up in the initial name search when i bought the domain name. I clicked on the link and it came up shiny and new, for a few moments I forgot what surrounded the site and the blemish it already had in the market, I had worked hard to produce this little piece of cyber space, and a service that there were thousand of people crying out for.

I spent the rest of the day frantically joining forums and writing emails to all of the offending sites i could get thought to to ask them to remove www.electron-world.com from their scammers lists, and thank fully many have responded, with favourable results, having checked out my new site.

If you are still unsure of my authenticity please contact me or check me out through whois or domains, or fraudwatchers or the wholesale forum or firetrust.

Thankfully, it is not all bad At least I am now at the top of the list above the scam sites and I have clients in the UK, USA, AUS, and NZ and my site has moved some 14million and odd places up the ranks of the Internet in the last month so i must be doing something right,
also as of today if you type www.electron-world.com into google it will show 1-10 of 211 found as opposed to the 1-10 of 420 previously, so I have managed to loose 207 sites.

The quest has just begun, I am already looking for new suppliers to add new products and by the end of week I will be adding more and changing the prices.

Thank fully I now have clients from all over the world and life is looking up.
so anyone who wants electronics at wholesale drop into my site and have a play, tell a friend or even buy in bulk

I started my business to help raise money for charity. I don't really have to work as I have Cerebral Palsy and the Government looks after me somewhat...perhaps not enough...lol But I enjoy working. I have been called a "work-a-holic"...so perhaps it is just as welll I do have a disability eh...lol

I started my business as I'm working towards financial freedom as it's always been my dream to be financially free. I want to earn multiple streams of income and be able to share my good fortune with friends and famly. I've also always had a dream of working from home through the internet.
