Why did you start your business and what do you work for?

I started to work in Second Life, because I really enjoyed the creative aspect. Prior to this, I was an analyst with GEICO, and while I enjoyed that job, being creative provides a different type of satisfaction.

I don't really consider it work, because I enjoy it so much. But to answer your question, I work, because it makes my life full and rich.

Why did I start my business?
I branched out my father's business onto Long Island at first because it was where I lived and I realized what a wonderful opportunity I had in front of me. My father was a huge success and was very good at what he did. Why wouldn't I want to learn from him? It was a wonderful choice!

What do I work for?
I work to help support me and my husband. We are looking to start a family together, and this job offers me the freedoms I need to be able to work as well as take care of my children. I also work to carry on our families name in this business.

I started my business so I could launch my acting career and rebuild my life after the death of my father from 10 years of alzheimers that flattened my life in every way. I'm an actor, comic and artist...and show business is my business. And I am a recovering caregiver. Corrine

I saw and need and I have a passion for teaching, so I put the two together and figure why not try to suppliment my income and help the industry by providing training in CPR, First Aid and OSHA.

Why did I start my business? As an real estate agent I learned a LONG time ago, that keeping in touch, remembering birthdays and anniversary's of purchase is very important. I always had a drawer full of cards that I would have on hand to send.
When I found SendOutCards.com/redbird I thought WOW why didn't I think of this. It makes it sooo much easier to sit down where ever in the work I am and send a card, or be reminded no matter where I am of a coming birthday, click on the email, select, personalize and send. That easy and that fast.
I am so excited about the concept that I HAVE to share, and thus the business.

WHAT IS MY WHY?
The fun of it. Getting something accomplished while having fun, and knowing that residual income will provide an retirement plan, something not always found in real estate.

I became an independent consultant with Rodan and Fields for several reasons. First is my love of making people feel good about themselves, and often removing skin concerns from their lives can change their life. But also, I had owned a retail store that put us so much in debt that at age 60 I doubt I will retire ever unless I become successful in this business.

I do this for my family, my son and husband so that we can stop worrying and become financially free.

Why...to fill the gap I experienced as an undergraduate, and which I continued to see as a post-graduate, then a part of teaching staff as well. The gap was a lack of consistent, reliable and learning focused support for students at uni/college. I wanted to do more to help undergrads learn to the best of their ability so that we could have more professionals who walk their talk and are passionate about what they do, not just chasing their go and the dollar.

What for...I love what I do so my work meets my personal needs for self-fulfillment and purposeful work; I am providing a needed service so students are less stressed, more confident, have more time for themselves and family etc; my family and friends are able to have a flexible babysitter cause I work from home, a flexible small business and blog mentor given my experiences; my local community is able to benefit from my skills and knowledge in the vol work that I do

I started "Friends Helping Friends" because there are so many people suffering in this economy - not able to even pay their mortgage. I started my own business because I was laid off in July and I never want to be in the position again, I also picked this business because I can help others start their own business and help them with obtaining health benefits also. I work for my future, my family and future family so I can leave them a lasting residual income.
