Why did I start my business?
I started this business because I love to help entrepreneurs shape ideas into a business, and then take their business to the next level.
What do you work for?
I work for my family... My wife, my children, and my future grandchildren... I want to build my businesses so that they will be a legacy that generations of my family will be able to participate in.
I am a marketing executive, a “Pioneer” Independent Skincare Executive Consultant (010196) and National Team Leader based in the Chicagoland area for Rodan + Fields, a new direct selling company featuring premium skincare products created by two of the world's most famous dermatologists, the same doctors who created ProActiv.
Why did I start this business? First, I am very blessed to have known one of the doctors since childhood and celebrated her many accomplishments over the years. This new company allows her to share her knowledge and head to toe skincare products with millions more new customers and empower people with the gift of a brilliant opportunity to start their own skincare business. She embodies the "pass it on" spirit and I believe in her company's mission to change skin and change lives. I also have years of marketing and business development experience that I use to build up others on my team. Through these activities, I hope to enrich others and provide a future legacy for my family.
Why? Because I want soooo much more for my family and my new little son. He is so much fun and deserves to see the world as I was blessed in my childhood. I want to share so much with women and men who want more out of life, much more abundance. It's here!
What do I work for?? My family and a comfortable lifestyle, where I can be with my son and we enjoy vacations and many fun times. I am also working for giving to organizations I believe in, who have given me soo much. They deserve so much too.
Why did I start my business?
I love making jewelry. I find it is a therapy for me. People like my items, so it seemed natural to sell them to those who loved them, that way I could pay for making more.
Who do I work for?
Me first. I enjoy making jewelry, as well as I enjoy doing the research about jewelry styles. Of course having the extra money in the house would be a Godsend as well.
Why did I start my business?
I love to help people, whether to save money in today's economy or make money despite the economy. I've "been through the fire" and have much to offer others so they too can acheive success.
What do you work for?
My family.......both my young boys have Type 1 Diabetes and it is just too important for me to be home with them. For my husband, so he can retire in the near future from a job he'd rather not go to.....for our future together and fulfill our dreams of traveling the world.
Somehow I got an e-mail notifying me of this thread, Not real up on how this ning network really works, but since I'm here.
I actually have been self employed since the early 80s as a general contractor, Through a bunch of MLM companies in the mix and I guess they call that independence, with out much spare time.
I went full time on-line in early 2001 in search of that independence. My wife and I have been working for the most part 7 days a week, countless hours. with a few years of wasted effort listening to the wrong people and half truths, we got our break.
We have been doing allot of developing for a while. Now we are shutting down two sites and launching a brand new one with a ton of candy. we have a bunch of other sites that keep us busy in our spare time also.
The reason in the beginning to have our own business was independence, We still see that independence with all the new 2.0 stuff available. Because we sure have a love for helping others, I guess that is what we are all about.
Got a little away from the specific question sorry.

I'm a photographer, first by way of a hobby, then I "turned pro", then I "went digital". (What a leap!)
I was a housepainter and hoped to eventually make a living w/my camera, but in the meantime, I documented all the places and scenes of my childhood. I put over 200 shots up on a website, which "languished" for a good long while. Then I had a heart attack and 6 or 8 mo. later my head blew up!
(read: Aneurism burst) That cost me my whole R side. My Wife, blessed be her name, suggested a digital camera would be easier (Possible!) to run w/one hand. (she was right...again!) So I revamped th' website and have been shooting like a man possessed ever since. I'm not exactly "settin' th' world on fire" w/sales, but I AM staying busy while I recover from the effects of th' stroke.
What I "work for" is the desire to share th' beauty that is all around us, but so few have the "vision" to see or the technical skills/tools to put on their walls themselves. I can "narrow" things down to their "essence" and frame that for the wall.
I jus' love it!
Shameless self-promotion: see http://www/timepiecephoto.com recently updated...again.
I started my business because I didn't want to go to work for others. I wanted to keep my freedom, to help pay the bills and retire my husband quicker, so we could do things before we were to old. As I started I realized I could not only pay bills, I realized I could help our sons. What a great feeling it is to be able to be independent but to know you have touched so many lifes in the process and helped them to forfil their dreams.
What I do for work is live my life to its fullest. I don't work I create a lifestyle from the base of my home.
I sell Tupperware which in Las Vegas, NV is not going very good due to the economy like everything else. I was hospitalized for over 2 1/2 months with severe pnemonia with a 5% chance of living and lost my job because of it and since I do not work in the casino industry nor speak Spanish on my side of town, in fact my local Albertson's just shut down cause it's going to turn into a hispanic store. That was the only one left within decent range that had bilingual people. It was less than a mile from my house so I've had to resort to work at home businesses while trying to a find a job. I'm 47 and willing to work but overqualified even going outside of my field which is in the insurance industry. It has not been fun. Now we have Albertson's shut down, Von's was shut down and the only other place is Smiths which is expensive and not that close. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against the hispanics just that all English grocery stores that I go to have shut down and reopened as Hispanic stores. I love Hispanic food but I don't feel I should have to travel across town to find a job that does not require someone to be bilingual. I've lived where I'm at for 15 years now and I don't think I need to learn Spanish to get a job close to home. Sorry venting. You asked, I answered.
I started my business because I'm a DAV USMC and I need to supplement my income. and I knew that things where going to bad here in the U.S. I also like the ideal of being able partner with people from anywhere in the world and working together to build a business,
I started my business out of love for animals. Growing up, I had a lonely childhood because I was "different" and animals were my best friends growing up. I vowed to always repay them back for their unconditional love. It also broke my heart to hear about so many homeless animals are put down every day due to lack of homes.
I work to end the overpopulation of animals in our country and to help the homeless animals find their forever homes. Spaying and neutering them is part of the battle. I'd love to say that I'm doing this so future generations could carry on this work but I really wish and hope that soon, rescues and shelters would be put out of business simply because there's no longer a need for us to exist due to the fact there are no more homeless animals. But that's a huge dream and with how things are going, it seems like the problem will be here for so many more years to go. I sure hope that this is not the case and we'll soon see the end of overpopulated homeless animals.
I started my business to be able to continue to stay at home with my boys and still help the family financial situation. I enjoy Social Media and feel I can help other people succeed by using social media for their business.
