Poll Results: Who Will Take Oprah’s Daytime TV Crown?

When BlackEnterprise.com readers were given the choice between Ellen DeGeneres, Tyra Banks, and Wendy Williams, to replace Oprah Winfrey as queen of daytime television, a majority of respondents to a recent poll chose none of the above.

Free and Low-Cost Resources to Help College Students Stay Afloat

There’s no question that college is one of the most memorable experiences in the transition from teen to adult. It can also be one of the most costly with $200 books, incidentals, and accidentals -- $115 parking ticket, $10 to replace your student ID, $15 for the on-campus comedy show (because after that week of tests and projects you need a reprieve.) Though the costs keep rising, there are a number of free and low-cost resources that can help college students keep a balanced budget.

Former Chicago Urban League President Runs for Senate Seat

Initially, Cheryle R. Jackson was flattered that then President-elect Barack Obama had added her to a list of six individuals who he felt were qualified to replace him in the Senate. But she didn’t seriously consider it at first.

An Action Plan for Black Friday

While the holiday shopping season is in full swing, the “official” kick off is nigh: Nov. 27 to be exact, a.k.a. Black Friday. But with the economy in a slump and unemployment at record numbers, how do we shop smarter for the holidays—if we’re even shopping at all?

The FDIC’s ‘Red’ Menace

A few hours ago, news came across the transom that the government insurance fund that protects consumer bank deposits “slipped into the red,” after some 50 banks collapsed between July and the end of September this year. Such headlines are more than a little disturbing for the average bank account-holder. We all know by now that the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) is the government entity that guarantees the safety of the money we’ve deposited into its member banks.

Report: Without Healthcare Reform, Plight of the Uninsured Bleak

If health insurance costs are left unchecked, the number of uninsured Americans will increase by 10% in every state in the country and by 30% in more than half the states, according to a new report from the Department of Health and Human Services.

Foreclosures of the Rich and Famous

Since the highly publicized foreclosure woes of Evander Holyfield and Michael Jackson, more celebrities have joined the thousands of homeowners hit by financial strain of a weakened economy.

Taking Advantage of Takeovers

When stocks rise, corporate takeovers usually aren’t far behind. Those takeovers can generate profits for investors–if you happen to own stock in the company being acquired.

Why Buy Retail Stocks?

As investors hunt for bargain stocks with strong growth potential, many are taking a closer look at retail stocks - and for a good reason.

FIBROMYALGIA and HIGH BLOOD SUGAR: Story of Hope
Ellen Alo, from Simpsonville, South Carolina, discovered she had high blood sugar during routine tests in 2000. “I had serious fibromyalgia issues. And I was getting results with a number of Relìv products,” she says. “But my blood sugar was still high and my doctor put me on insulin.”

When GlucAffect™ was launched last November, Ellen was eager to see how it might help her. “I feel so much better now,” Ellen says. “My blood sugar now tests on the low end of the scale, I have much more energy and both my triglycerides and cholesterol levels have come down… and I’ve dropped five pounds!”

Ellen appreciates the versatility of GlucAffect — she mixes it into her regular shake, or takes it in a cup of hot tea. But what she likes best about the new product is the way it helps manage her blood sugar. “When my blood sugar was too high or low, it affected my energy levels,” she says. “Since I’ve started using GlucAffect, I am on much more of an even keel.

“I’ve talked with many people who complain about tiredness and big swings in energy,” she continues. “And I tell them I have something that could do for them what it has done for me, and that’s GlucAffect!”

Who do you know and care about that needs help with their health? Who do you know and care about that just wants to feel better? Who do you know and care about that has been looking for a real solution? What if this is the solution they've been looking for? You may contact me at lisareneeclark@troyclark.org

Hey, Friends!

You are a beautiful thought in the mind of God and I'm glad you're in my head!

I've been away for awhile attracting an opportunity that I intend to bless you! We all see what's happening with the economy. That's right, we're talking about the Healing Power of Abundance! I knew there must be a way to offer a sense of freedom to my friends in ways that allow them to bless others. I don't know about you, but I'm ready for a change, and I've found the way to do it. I call it the Economic Ministry of Fortune! Check out what's going to make the difference!!!

Hi Amina - As a woman, I would like to see women have more balance between home and work like. I would like to see more women being empowered to decide when and how they work. This is not just about money, although we are all slaves to it to a greater or lesser extent. But most of all its about CHOICE I personally know of many women, who would prefer not to work and stay at home to riase thier kids but do not feel they have the opportunity. This is one of the reasons I started my business, http://www.betterworklifebalance.com. as I want to see more women in the driving seat for a change. I hope that helps

If as a woman you could change anything about your life what would it be? Ladies, I am conducting research for a project and need to get input from those who would have first-hand knowledge. Please let me know what you would change about your life? Do you have an unfilled dream, would you change your family life, your job, or change the way you look? I appreciate your response. If you wish to make your response private, please reply to UltimateWomanLooks@gmail.com. Thank you

I'm grateful for this opportunity to communicate with my brothers and sisters. So many times, we allow people (our family members, friends, or just associates) to validate who we are. But we are destine for greatness. I recently published my first book. The title of it is "Born to Succeed." It is a great book that needs to be read my our teenagers and adults who think that their lives are over. The book will take you on a journey you will never forget. Right now, I'm learning the perks of marketing. Knowledge is the key to success!
