blog carnivals are when one blog posts links to other sites. I host 3 carnivals on 3 different sites and am about to start a third. If anyone is interested pleas join and I will start showing how it is done. One site linking to others with no payback

I am about to open a second carnival and I run to 2 more on other sites. If this first one has a good start I will post the 3 other niche sites and you will have a great deal to choose from.

Good things about these is there is nothing asked in return (except maybe a stumble or Digg).
