I started a business to help with paying the bills. I have learned alot from reading books, e-books and by meeting people online. What is it that keeps you motivated? I would have to say the idea of peace and comfort from knowing I can pay my bills. How about you?
We all need to generate cash. I didn't want to trade my time for a paycheck anymore. Additionally, multiple streams of income is DEFINITELY the way to go. I was raised with the belief "Get a good education to secure a good job." It sounds all well and good, but in reality it is only 1 income stream. That always bothered me. Why would anyone limit themselves to one income stream? Now, I work when I want to work which is alot of the time, but I guess its because I really like it!
I've always been an artist and a collector. Trouble is, you can only make or collect so much before it crowds you out. I've always gotten compliments on my work, so I thought why not just sell my handmades, photography, and vintage items? ...And here I am now.
I do it, because I love it. It would be nice to quit the day job one day, but I'm far from that point. It's just nice to have an outlet for my creativity and bring in some extra money that way.
For me I started my business for the freedom. Because I'm the one the who has the power to decide how much I want to make, how hard I want to work and what I want to do, it gives me the freedom to live the lifestyle I want to have.
And I love that.
I love living on the French Riviera, taking vacation about 4 1/2 months a year (more or less), getting to travel when and where I want, and doing something I love.
