I am very much excited for the opportunity to feature my next guest exploration, Gerald Simmons.

This social networking pro is all over the place brightening other member's days. He has got the "King of Prosperity" motivational network. I go there sometimes just to enjoy a taste of motivation for myself.

He's also got his own outreach project called Motivational Corner. I'm looking forward to firing up the segment on my social network too.

Gerald Simmons produces his own brand of motivational inspiration, and he's networked with countless of online business startups to that effect. He has an upcoming motivational book, "The GPS Success Guide".

I also think it's motivating to learn about the team he is putting together called the 3Kings.So I'm getting motivated just thinking about this, because I know Gerald Simmons to be another five star social networker.

Right on Gerald, thanks for joining in! Others are welcome to jump in too. So her we go, are you ready?!

I first met Gerald on a Veteran's group here on Sta.rtUp.Biz. He had posted a very interesting graphic in his message, which I later came to learn was custom made. In it he referenced a quote from Flow, The Psychology of Optimal Experience - one of my favorite books. So I looked into him and was impressed with what I found.

I believe we had been working a discussion about prior service military and what they could do when they retired. Gerald, a vet himself, had an interesting suggestion in a Pre-Paid Legal service. According to him, it was the ideal pick up project for an older person to take on because it was legitimate, interesting, and essentially easy. Now anyone that has gotten to know me knows I speak out a lot against MLM programs and the like. However, when I looked into Gerald's information I actually thought this was an interesting venture.

So I found Gerald's Legal As One social network. I was really pretty excited about it because he was building a Ning network like Sta.rtUp.Biz and like me. I wasn't too sure just how many people on this site even had an idea they could do this. Here was a guy that had done a great job. The first thing I was hit with was some terrific motivating music. Now a lot of people have their different tastes in music, I personally liked Gerald's because it was contemporary upbeat R&B. Some of it was actually quite close to choir music.

Looking further into Gerald's site, I noticed he had set up and linked Myspace pages to his network. I'm a big fan of Successories, those pictures you see in offices with motivational statements such as Courage or Patience. Gerald has this knack for putting himself in the picture and promoting the motivational message. I was really impressed.

So I invited Gerald to my site and he was pleased to oblige. When he got to Area Light, he set up this group called Motivational Corner where he posts regular motivational media segments featuring music, video, famous quotes, pictures of famous people, and sometimes even his own motivational thoughts to help you stay up for the grueling work of starting your own business. Gerald sets a great example of the modern industrial spirit, and I think he also recognizes the importance of having something positive to offer people.

Over the next several months I networked with Gerald and found his Motivational Corners almost everywhere I went. In fact, this is something of a project I had been working on with Area Light Explorer as an outreach activity for my network. It's neat to see we have many mutual friends, and I've even seen him on the Ning Network Directory as a featured Gold Member. There's a network to promote all kinds of social networks and Gerald is right in there as a network creator with something to offer virtually any other network as well as provide a little motivation for other network creators.

Here's a guy that I appreciate being able to associate with. He's mentioned to me a variety of projects he's into, another thing I find in common with him. One of my favorites is when he starts talking about mindsets, because I have a proprietary business line and media segment I'm developing called Nascent Dynamics ( ) Mindset Technologies, as well as The Modern Business Mindset. You can tell Gerald is exploring, researching, and developing out his concept all the time. I think that's exactly the kind of mindset that is needed to succeed today.

Most recently, Gerald has started promoting his concept and book. And I'm looking forward to checking it out. I'm certain it will have a heavy dose of terrific and motivating content. I would assume there will also be some business opportunity at the end, but this is a book that Gerald is actually selling. So for what it is worth in cost, I would be willing to bet it delivers more in terms of value in the right hands.

I like to think of Gerald as a modern social networking pro. He's defined himself as somewhat of an online social personality…a brand tied into who he is and what he does. He engages people in concept and function, and has a terrific propensity to find people that are into the same things he is into. Ultimately, I believe his intentions to motivate and inspire others is genuine. I see a lot of religious element built into his messages, and in his case I find these presented tastefully.

More to follow!

Best,

Anthony

Just a couple quick notes...

Thank you Gerald for sharing this segment with your friends. I did refer to your social network by it's old name, Legal As One, and am very interested to find out about the new theme King of Prosperity Motivational Network. Perhaps that is where we could start.

We can continue this at your convenience.

The story behind the change of my networks name.

The old name Legal As One Motivational Network was actually losing possible members for me. As you stated above at the time I was real heavy into my pre-paid legal business (I still am, but with a different mindset) and that name reflected that. People looked at that name for just that, they thought I was going to just talk about pre-paid legal. So to make a long story a little shorter I got tired of trying to convince people that although I do love pre-paid legal, there's a step that you have to take before I would talk to you about pre-paid legal or any other business for that matter. Which is mindset! I changed the name to King of Prosperity Motivational Network because that's what I started to do and what I focus most on doing . I bring PROSPERITY to peoples personal lives and business lives through my network.

I do this though my words, my life, my passion...... The more I started to notice that by me sharing what was motivating me to keep moving forward I was helping other people to keep moving forward it changed me as a person. People started to respond to my motivational post that I would make and the gift to motivate others by changing the way they looked at life was born.

I am getting off the subject here Anthony, but I have to tell a quick story.

June 27, 2008 Gerald P. Simmons Jr. was laid off of work for the second time since I have been out of the Army and I got out of the Army in December of 04. That did somehting to my mindset towards putting my life and my beautiful families life in anybody elses hands except mines. .... July of 08 I started to get unemployment, so I'm like cool I'm getting something in still. October 2008 my checks get stopped! The reason they stopped is because I missed a interview and the one I missed got reported, what luck right! I was going so strong at what became my passion, that I called and canceled the interview. I made that decision so I had to live with what ever happened. Now I'm down to no steady money coming in on my part. I tried to make an appeal in November 08 and right before Christmas 08 I got a letter saying my appeal was denied, but I can TRY AGAIN. Another decision to make, do I fight for a lie that I made up to try and get my benifits back or do I move on and use that energy to keep motivating all of you out here in the world! Making that tuff decision to keep going at my passion although the world around me seemed to be a nightmare was one of the best hard decisions I have ever made!

I KEPT MOVING FORWARD!

March 2009, Gerald P. Simmons Jr. car gets reposed! What luck right....... The world was trying to tell me that my life was a nightmare and I should stop now a go back! I continued to believe in myself and move forward. I once heard that when you are really close to your dreams things around you get really scary! I came to find out that if you continue to look forward and move forward things really are not that scary as they seem. Fear became my bestfriend! Fear stands for False Evedence Appearing Real!!!!

heres one of my favorite videos:

Still I kept following my dream, I kept looking up where I know my FAITH came from and is still coming from. I'm not going to preach here, but I have to say GOD is GOOD all the time and all the time GOD is GOOD!!

June 2009 Gerald P. Simmons Jr still has not work for anyone else but myself! I have built a motivational network of over 450 members from across the world, I am mentoring 2 young amazing guys Adrian "KING of Change" Swanigan owner of the group TransformingMinds and Leon "KING of SUCCESS" Bailey III owner of the group Greatest Successors Ever (The 3Kings coming to a seminar near you soon!), I have built my own website http://KingofProsperity.com (http://blog.KingofProsperity.com), many more projects in the works! I am most proud that through all of this I have wrtiten a book that will give you ten tips to achieve success in life and in business. The GPS Success Guide main focus is on the only thing that will hold you back from your greatness, which is you and the mindset you decide to have. Click the banner below to preview my book:

I think I have said enough for now Anthony, I hope I was not just rambling!

I leave this section with one of my own quotes:

"Your mind can be your bestfriend or your worst enemy, depends on what you put into it and how you use it"

Right on Gerald,

You see, the main points I notice come up with your are seriously important in social networking, and why I consider you a pro.

For me, I've noticed a message being directed at the next generation of startup business people and online social networkers. Just see the Steve Jobs commencement speech on Sta.rtUp.Biz today. "The only way to do great work, is to love your work." Or note the Gary Vandercuk video one of my friends posted on Area Light. It's all about how people do incredible things when they are passionate about something, because the most worthwhile things usually require more than a decision. When you are really in to what you are doing, then you manifest all kinds of opportunities, and have the compulsion to keep moving forward when it seems you cannot connect the dots to materialize your vision.

So when I see you, Gerald, I see a guy who is really accessing intrinsic motivation, and extending yourself across the divide between you and your destiny. That's easier said than done, and I know people tend to lose the initiative after so long not getting close to the end they want. Yet I can relate to you on pulling yourself together and focussing on the path forward. It comes down to a mindset where you know your decisions include your outlook, and that no matter how far away you seem from your goal, there will be a path forward possible.

I pick up on the true north principle in your work. You do seem to be oriented with the knowledge of where you want to go. It's noticably easy for people to get lost in the emerging business environment when they look outside themselves at material objectives. Things are changing too fast for most people to keep up with and there is a lot of work involved navigating through the obstacles. So really what you need is a positive destination and perhaps a GPS system to help you get there. All you need to know is the integrity of defining yourself as who you want to be and what you want to do in this world.

I actually think you are quite professional in your work too. In terms of content value, the substance of famous quotes and the diversity of your sources are great values to people. Actually, people pay for that kind of thing, and I know a lot of books are sold using these quotes as a defining theme. It's also credible content. Almost certainly, whatever a person is doing to face their obstacles in life and business can surely relate to the messages.

I also think there is strategic branding and design factors alot of people take for granted, but are important skills for today's social networking environment. There are things you can do to make your work more usable and immediately impactful. For instance, you can keep things simple and practically reduce your concepts down to bulletted lists. You can also learn and respond to feedback. I think it takes some risk taking and exploration to actually immerse yourself enough in the realities of an evironment, to actually realize what it takes to really know what you are doing. You also need the flexibility to adapt and change. You don't get that unless you really put yourself in the mix and put some commitment...or belief...into the notion the destination is possible. You don't learn the keys unless you actually try.

Thanks for your announcement about this segment on Area Light. I appreciate your call for support. Anyone who wants to see what it's like as a modern business person to apply social networking to accomplish a vision can see a transparent documentary of my work in the example of that site. I've left it open for everybody to make it their own and use as an opportunity to play with their concepts and online social presence. It's been evolving with me, though I made it a broader concept when I started, because I knew I was going to be in a period of research and development with it for several years.

It's by no means easy, because that's life! What you do to access your prosperity from within and to send it out is just right on. I think it was a good move to refocus your theme on that aspect of what you do. I know as you build relationships, especially with those people you find who can relate to you, then you are always open to talking business. I've also caught glimpses of you on other platforms, and it's really great to see a consistent commitment to inspiring success in others. I should think looking into your 3Kings will make for an interesting part of this segment.

Great job Gerald, and obviously a job you have made suited to what you want in life!

Best,

Anthony

Thank you Anthony!

I just wrote a poem and I wanted to share it. I hope you don't mind.

Just Say Yes.....
by: Gerald P. Simmons Jr.

When life gets tuff and moving forward is a must,
just remember why you are doing it and in that vision you trust.
When the path you are taking is constantly on an incline
When the packets are empty but the bills keep rolling in
When it seems like you are always trying to push troubles off of your chest.
Remember this is not the time for you to rest,
get up and continue to follow that vision and "Just Say Yes".

Life is hard and it will do you wrong,
There's no way to excape it's twist and turns.
Your success will come in due time
as long as you continue to stay on your grind.
Although the road ahead will make you think twice,
just keep that vision of that new life.

The world can be cruel and unfair:
When life gets the hardest,
You cannot allow yourself to get blinded by the fear!
Keep dreaming your dream
Keep creating your reality
Keep holding on to your faith
Keep going after that vision
So when your time comes and the world ask are you ready
You can confidently
"JUST SAY YES"!!!!!

That's a great poem Gerald. Very motivating!

I really like your personal works, more than the icons- though that is good motivating material too. You know I had this Adidas, Celebrate Originality House Party with the likes of Becham, Kevin Garnet, Missy Eliot, and the music was a modern remix of an old Frankie Vally song. That's kind of the motivational experience I want to promote on my social network.''

I also have this project I'm putting front and center to create Area Light Explorer, An Online Social Networking Magazine. I want to feature you in it. This Modern Business Exploration group is an extention of that project and network. I also think publishing your works on the Motivational Corner is great, because my idea is basically to make the whole social network the magazine. I've also got a cover page I am working on that helps shape and account for the content of the magazine. That might be a perfect place to highlight your poetry.

In fact, I think people go through a roller coaster when they are out of work and either looking for work, or trying to see what they can put together online. So having somebody around who is sharing motivational energy can be a difference maker in keeping them focussed on positive steps forward. If I could, I would try to attract people like yourself, who are looking to help build up the motivation in others, and have them as a featured aspect of my social network.

I also think it is sharp to separate the personal from the professional, when you can move smoothly between these without causing awkward discomfort. Right now I am studying this online personality named Lorena Stanley. She's a recruiter and human resources consultant that uses e-mail marketing like a pro. But the part I like about her letters and such are that they seem directed at me the reader. Today I got one and I was really wondering for a bit if she had actually directly messaged me. The neat thing about her work is that it motivates you to get out there and work...whether that is working your way into a job, or working your way into self-employed work...because the central theme of that is a positive outlook and the drive to be professionally competitive.

I'm also developing my business to include what I call Nascent Dynamics ( ) Personal Consulting. My theme is a little broader in suggesting I help people "accomplish what you set your mind to." I tend to qualify my expertise simply by the fact that I am going for it and materializing what I want for everyone to see. You set an example, and that success and prosperity crosses over to people. Then you have some steps forward people can take to get closer to you and actually even work with you personally.

So I really like your outreach work in the Motivational Corners. I understand you have a long list of sites you have set up on. Perhaps you would like to explore these with me, and we could feature the explorations on Area Light Explorer. I have set up some Area Light Explorer profiles on other networks, and plan on feeding the discussions from my group to those networks.

You know something else that motivates me, are people and companies that embody that optimal mindset of being the best. Companies like Nike...Just do it! I was thinking maybe I might be able to contribute some motivating explorations as a segment on the Motivational Corner. What do you think of that idea?

Best,

Anthony
