Mom Business

Mom Business is a group for moms to come together and share information about what they have done to work from home in order to spend more time with their families. As a mom working from home, I'm sure this is a goal we all share. The purpose of this group is to HELP EACH OTHER.

Unfortunately, this is NOT a group for SPAMMERS. If you are a spammer go somewhere else, or I will ban you.

RULES:

1. There is an advertising discussion specifically for advertisements. If you deliberately advertise somewhere else I will delete you from the group. I know it's mean, but I have to protect the people that actually come here to network.

2. Sometimes you may feel that you have a link that will genuinely help another mom with free advertising or the like (traffic exchanges, safelists, etc.). Please post these links in the "SIGN-UP LINKS" discussion that is designated for them. Do not post them anywhere else or I will delete them.

3. You may add a link to your website and a short tagline about your site in your signature. If the tagline is more than one line long, I will consider it an advertisement and delete your comment. If you don't want to put a tagline, you can use another website instead.

4. If the purpose of your comment or discussion appears to be written just for the purpose of showing off your signature line, I will consider it spam and delete it as well. So when you discuss or comment, make sure you actually contribute something to the conversation.

5. NO BOYS ALLOWED! Boys are dads, not moms. We're sexist in this group.

6. If you have a helpful website that you DO NOT get personal gain from, and it is relevant to the discussion, you may post it in any discussion or comment. Just to be clear, here's an example: A mom asks about the best marketing techniques and you know of a really great marketing blog, it's okay to post a link and a description of the blog. However, if you send them your sign-up link to a traffic exchange, I will delete it.

6. Lastly, if you see boys sneaking into the group, or someone that you feel I am overlooking, please e-mail me. Or if you have a suggestion, please e-mail me. My profile link is here. This way I can investigate the situation.

Lastly, I have the right to change these rules. If I do, I'll put an update on the bottom in big fat bold letters.

If you're comment or discussion is borderline spam, I will delete it, but it probably won't get you banned unless you keep doing it. I know we all get excited sometimes and advertise without noticing, but don't be a repeat offender. Please read the spam rules above.

IF YOU ARE A BOY, AND YOU SNEAK INTO THE GROUP, YOU WILL BE CONSIDERED STINKY AND SMELLY AND BE BANNED. I KNOW YOU HAVE GREAT BUSINESS AND EXPERIENCE, BUT THIS GROUP IS FOR MOMS. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Let's start a discussion...why did you decide to start a business and what drew you to the business you are in???

I decided to become a business owner when I was laid off from my JOB due to downsizing. It was really a slap in the face for me and I vowed to myself that I would not get back into that rat-race. I was so stressed before, waking up to that darn alarm clock, dropping off the kids, racing to work, racing to pick up kids after work, cooking, taking kids to sports, etc. etc. etc. I was at the breaking point, so my lay off was really a blessing in disguise. I always say that you are where you are meant to be, so I guess this was my wake-up call. I chose Ameriplan because it is a solid company, it was inexpensive to get started, great training, NEEDED products, I get benefits, we get residual income, and my focus is to make a six-figure income within 2-4 years. The best part is that I get to help people with their health care needs!

So...let's hear about everyone else!!

I joined up here because I LOVE to help moms (and dads!) to be able to stay home and become their own "boss". I feel so sad when I offer someone this awesome opportunity and they say "they can't" for whatever reason. I just keep thinking how sad it is that two or three years down the road, they will most likely be doing the same thing, being part of the rat race, while those who jump on board will probably have the freedom they are craving, both financially and personally.
