I have been working with nonprofit organizations in the areas of PTSD, AIDS, cancer, and domestic violence. Every day another nonprofit asks for my help.
Historically, socially conscious business people have used conventional means to earn profits, then contributed a portion of those profits to non-profit organizations. Call it "doing well, then doing good."
More recently I find myself coming across businesses that integrate support for nonprofits' fund-raising an integral part of their own business. Their clear intent is to include supporting worthwhile causes in the normal course of making profits for themselves. Call it "doing good *while* doing well"!
I started The Funding Network with this goal in mind: I want to give nonprofit organizations opportunities to consider many ways to raise funds at the same time, to learn more about them, and then to decide which of the businesses' programs seem the best fit with the nonprofits' character.
If your business has the kind of program I've described, join this group and visit often! I know people who need what you have to offer, and I will bring them to you - but please understand that they you have this chance to present your program to them *because* they trust me, so I have a lot at stake here. I can't allow anyone's ego to get in the way of the overall goal.
Please respect our policy: No negatives - except this one. :-) Describe your program openly. Consider carefully how what you offer might work well - or poorly - for a particular nonprofit. Look at others' programs with an open mind. Seek out ways your program might dovetail with others.
Blessings and Love
