Hi everyone,

For every gift basket order, I donate 5% of the the total before taxes to charity.

Below is information on the two organization I currently work with:

APECA - they work with kids and teenagers and offer many workshops and programs to help them, such as ones for keeping them from joining gangs and kids who have been sexually exploited. Also part of their organization is Natalie's House (started by Natalie Grant the gospel singer if you are familiar with her), which is a safe haven for girls between the ages of 11-17 who have been picked up off the street by the police for prostituting themselves. Go to their website for more information: www.protectchild.org

Valley View Community Food Bank - a local food bank that provides food for those in need for a month at a time - no questions asked - literally!! They do not request ANY kind of information from you to see if you qualify, etc. During the holidays they also collected toys for kids and on Christmas had a HUGE event at a park with a tree, Santa (who brought toys for every child in attendance), and Christmas dinner. This website is in process of being built.

I hope you can see and understand from the descriptions above why I support these organizations so strongly. I feel they provide important, valuable help to others in serious need.

With the economy being the way it is and people getting laid off, there are more people in need of food because they no longer have the finances needed to support themselves - just something I think about.

I will end with this - when you place your order, just let me know which charity you are wanting to give to at that time.

I apologize this so lengthy. Thank you for taking the time to read this!!

Domestic Violence Isn't Just an Adult Problem
In December, actress and celebrity Amanda Bynes, along with Mary Kay Inc. and non-profit partner Break the Cycle, announced the launch of a national online campaign to petition lawmakers nationwide to make domestic violence prevention awareness mandatory in schools and encourage states to require teen dating violence prevention programs in schools across the country. If you haven't had the opportunity to sign the online petition, there's still time. Just go to www.enddatingviolence.com.
