Many people recommend using splash pages for traffic exchanges and sometimes for text ad and safelist based advertising too. People then get a quick loading and easy to understand page that helps them to decide to click and visit!

Do you make splash pages? What do you use? How about free splash page generators like on Click Voyager? Where do you host your splash pages? Any great tips on splash page design - post them here!

One thing that always stumped me was how to get the splash pages to replicate the member's id and go to their affiliate link. Well through a lot of trial and error I finally found out how to do this and now I have my splash page set up in the member's area and have it going to their member id when it's clicked on.

I can do that now for any page. it doesn't have to be a traffic exchange.

I think it's much better to have your own design and not fall back on third party sites to do this
and if you can find someone who is fresh out of school and is willing to do the design for a paid membership or for allowing them to have their name on your site it's a lot less of an expense.

Hi Rebecca, that's a great idea about finding a design student. I may do that the next time I set up a splash page!

I tend to depend on the splash pages provided by the te I surf and promote, with one exception. James Maxwell designs the ones for MaxTraffic AFF Banner Exchange and I'm always having to peer review them as support admin, proof reader, visual art advisor! *smiles*

I've only created a page or two with TrafficTornado. What is good about that as a tool is that I can save the html to a web page when I'm done running it...the one I have there now (they allow one per free member) is a splash with general information about an affiliate mlm site. It's nice to have an alternate page to promote with than the ones provided because sometimes the home made looking page has appeal to sign ups.

Rebecca,
I recognized your name from surfing at LOT, but I didn't know you had T-Rex! Love your splash page! I'm going to go join as soon as I post this!

Have a great day,
Beth
