I thought I had already written you - but don't see it. If two show up feel free to delete. I appreciate so much your site. Have been self-publishing for 20 years. New ideas are what I need most, I think!

I've always wanted to be a writer. In fact--I've written a few ebooks based on what I've learned through various experiences in my life. I've gone about as far as I can in writing them--but don't feel like they're finished yet!

I think it would seriously improve them to have a few other people contribute to them. But I guess it would help if I actually asked someone to do that LOL! Which so far I have yet to do. Of course I need to figure out who to ask--and what to say to increase the chances of getting a yes answer! But anyway--that's where I am right now.

Thanks for listening,
take care,
Christine

Greetings all.

Writing my novel, The Ezekiel Code, was like running an obstacle course for 9 years, zig-zagging around, under, and between a full-time job, and all the little time-consuming surprises that pop up continuously. Many of you, undoubtedly, know what I mean.

The book was released just 13 months ago and I thought I was done. Surprise! As much of a time-consuming and often difficult task as the actual writing was, it seems like a breeze now compared to the next step: Marketing and promotion.

If you're a new writer or a first-time novelist without a big-money PR firm to handle the promotion then be prepared to take off your writer's hat and put on your promoter's hat. Make sure it's a comfortable fit because you'll find yourself wearing it more often than you might think. :-)

But enough about that. This thread is called "Tell Us About Your Book" so here's a synopsis of The Ezekiel Code:

1887 AD:
A fabled "lost scroll", scribed by the prophet Ezekiel, comes into the hands of a secret society, the Order of the New Dawn. Brother Hiram - a mystic priest of the Order - has a vision in which he sees the year 2012 as an unprecedented window of opportunity for the next step in the evolution of human consciousness. He also sees something coming that could prevent the window from opening, an event that would seal the fate of humankind forever. He realizes the Lost Scroll and his vision have a strange but vital connection. In an attempt to save the future he devises a coded message that he hopes will one day find it's way into the hands of someone who can prevent the greatest catastrophe the modern world has ever known.

1999 AD:
Frank McClintock - a self-styled adventurer and researcher of ancient mysteries - comes into possession of the coded parchment. But an unfortunate fate awaits him and the parchment will lie hidden for another six years.

2005 AD:
Zeke Banyon, a Catholic seminary dropout, is running a homeless shelter in the old waterfront district of Seattle. He and his assistant, Angela, unwittingly stumble upon the code and soon find themselves thrust into a world of secret societies, metaphysics, mystery, and murder. In the process of trying to understand the code – and dodging rogue Jesuit priests at every turn – Banyon discovers a disturbing truth about himself and the extraordinary fate that awaits him... and us. No amount of seminary schooling could ever have prepared him for this.

2012 is coming...
The clock is ticking...
The code must be deciphered...
And only one man can save the planet...
If he can just figure out how - before it's too late.

Wishing all of you much success with your writing! Now go write something! :-)
