What's Your Criteria On Who to Follow on Twitter? Do you ever Un-Follow?

I'm pretty new to Twitter, only following 54 and being followed by 59. I've sorted through and found persons of interest and people have found me, I follow them only to be bombarded by tweets. Hate the constant "Looking to Make Facebook (or Linked-In) contacts".

I get little time to read any tweets, not to mention the multitude of unrelated topic tweets. If they tweet too much I "un-follow" them. Ever do the same? Do you apply more worthiness to tweets that are tweeted from the web than opposed to tweets from services such as PingFM or TwitterFeed?

Or take it all in stride; better to have 1000 followers than 59?
