Ubiquity is a Firefox plug-in that has come to change the way people browse the web.
This plug-in, still in it's alpha version, allows users to access web services such as
email, maps, dictionaries, translators, and even search through sites like Google
Amazon and YouTube all without opening a new page or tab.
To use Ubiquity users will have to know the command to these services, but these commands
are user friendly. For example let's say you were reading a post about the top ten
web development books, in order to check the price in Amazon, without ubiquity, you would have to
go to Amazon and search for the book, with ubiquity all you have to do is hit CTRL+Space
this opens ubiquity, simply type "Amazon [title of the book]" and a list of results will
show up instantaneously, I would say faster than even at Amazon itself. If English
is not your first language, highlight this post's text, open ubiquity, type
"translate this to [your language] english" and hit Enter, the text will be translated to
your language using Google translate. This process might sound like it can slow down the browser
but that's not the case, every command I've used got executed instantaneously.

I have only mentioned big names so far ( Amazon, Google ) but you too can make apps for Ubiquity
that interact with your site and every time a visitor comes to your site with Ubiquity installed
they will be asked if they want to enable your apps. Apps for ubiquity are made with Javascript, but because
it is still in alpha version standards might change so you'll probably want to wait, but don't worry we'll keep
you updated and even show you how to make some apps for your site as soon as they give us the green light. In the
mean time you can try Ubiquity by going to
