I have two WP blogs that are causing me problems.

The first - When I upgraded to a newer version of WP, I failed to realize that since I was using the Default theme (which I'd never done before) that it would be wiped out and overwritten by the new Default theme. I've got most stuff fixed but cannot for the life of me figure out how to get rid of two lines that did not show up on the previous Default blog. (I've got to add back my Contact links and some other stuff, but re-doing all the graphic customization has taken longer than it did the first time around.) Is there anyone willing to take a look, someone who has actually customized the graphics of an existing theme? I surely would appreciate it!

The second blog - I'm using the Box theme - haven't customized the graphics yet. The sidebar and footer looked okay, then I added another text widget and put an ad in it. For some reason, it kicked the Meta box down to the footer. I've removed the offending text box and am using the provided "Advertisements" .php file for the ad. It looks okay, and "Meta" went back up to the sidebar, but now the footer is not centered. And, there's a teeny-tiny little smiley face right above the footer. I noticed it earlier up above the banner in the header. Is it the stats plugin? I just upgraded that plugin to a newer version. That code is the code showing directly above the footer in the "View Page Source" document from the browser.

I lost a year's worth of content when I moved this blog from b2evolution to WordPress; I'm beginning to wish I had never done it!

UPDATE: When I went to the Holiday site just now, testing the link above, I see that the smiley face is gone and that "stats" code is no longer showing above the footer code. I did nothing. ????? But...the footer is still off to the left.
