Our names are Armando & Cindee Edrosa and like millions of now unemployed Americans we were in search of an opportunity to make enough income to work from home, and provide for our family.

We both come from a Mortgage Finance background and have worked several years in the corporate setting. I also have a Trucking company. We have done very well and are used to making lucrative incomes. When the economy took a dive here in the States however, so did our careers.

We realized this was actually a blessing, as this gave us the opportunity to decide what we want for our future. We decided we no longer wanted a corporation deciding for us how much money we were going to make, how long we'd have our careers, or how much time we'd be able to spend with each other. Now that we're getting a bit (just a bit) older :) we both agreed it would be nice to take back some of our freedom and work for ourselves.

What are the 2 biggest challenges you're facing using Twitter?

I don't know about you, but for us it was creating effective status updates and increasing our followers.

We know that we only have 140 characters to work with on our updates. Many times the URL links we try to post are so long, it can be difficult to post what we want to say and make it all fit. Well, we're pretty new at this ourselves, but found that even the Pro's are using link cloaking services to shorten their links and give them more room for what they want to say. As for the hardest part of building your reputation and establishing a good follower base, there are many services offering you more followers on Twitter. Some of which offer you thousands of followers within 30-90 days; but if you're not careful, you can end up with tons of spam emails sent out on your behalf and actually ruin your reputation as a professional. Do your research and pick a service you feel comfortable with; but if you don't already have a service that's working for you, here's a new tool we just started using ourselves. We didn't get thousands in a few days, but we did get an honest couple hundred new followers just in the first week and it's consistently growing. If you need help with keeping track of your Twitter followers to send them messages, or Auto Responders, another great link is TweetLater.com. They are also a Free service that was recommended to us by another Tweeter that we think is simply fantastic. You can choose if you want to send your status updates (Tweets) at a future time, automatically follow those that follow you, set up auto responders to your new followers, and have them clean up your messages for you when they get stale.
