About Me...
My name is Carla Trent and I am a handmade beaded jewelry designer. I’ve been making beaded jewelry for 12 years now, it started out as a hobby, but this hobby turned into my number one passion in life. This is how Designs By CT was born! I offer something for everyone: women, men, and children.
I find that men enjoy wearing handmade beaded jewelry as much as women and little girls do. If my customers want something made specifically for them, I’m always happy to do custom orders.
I make beaded charms, bracelets, earrings, necklaces, and jewelry sets. I like to use a variety of materials such as: glass, plastic, silver, wood, shell, and bone beads. I’m always looking for new ways to improve my craft.
Since this is my passion in life, I like doing good things for my customers such as: giving them free jewelry and that is always a big hit with my customers whether old or new. My design style is more comfortable and casual, but now I’m starting to venture into bridal and vintage jewelry.

Full Speed Ahead.....
As you can see it's been a long time since I made a blog entry and so much has happened since that time. I feel like my business is picking up but could be better if I had a steady stream of customers. My pieces just keep getting better. I wish I could do this as a full time job so I'm working on that, in the meantime I'll just keep doing what I'm doing. Would really like to learn more about networking and marketing.

Helpful Programs
As a single parent I'm always looking for ways to help make things better for myself and my children. In our community they have a program for kids when its time to go back to school they give the children free book bags and school supplies. They also give kids free shoes. These programs have been so helpful they are true blessings without them I don't know what I would do. Sometimes.....
Sometimes we have to take a step back and take a good look at our lives and where we are headed. I feel as though somewhere a long the way I lost my "identity" of who I was.....my whole life centered around my children. Don't get me wrong I love my children very much, but I had no life and for a long time I had no creative juice left in me. Nothing Beats A Failure, But A Try!!
I'm pretty passionate about making beaded jewelry, but there are many people around me who keep telling me that it will never sell..nobody is interested in "beads". I refuse to believe that and as long as I'm passionate it something it will work. I love what I do and I think others will too.

Before making a ring, I would recommend to sign up for a silversmithing calss as you will have to use special tools and will need to be taught how to do it properly.
there are many such classes at colleges and you should be abel to find one
You can also make simple wire wrapped rings with beads
