Welcome to Carolyn's Raw Foods!

I'm Carolyn Akens, an accomplished entrepreneur, successful chef, and a dynamic educator. My background includes working as a Business System Analyst, Claims Operations Manager, and Executive Assistant. My culinary career began in 2001, as a personal chef preparing delicious and healthy meals for clients.

Due to the devastating loss of my younger brother to obesity, I knew that a lifestyle change had to happen; and in my research discovered raw foods. I trained to become a certified master raw food chef and raw food instructor, and a raw lifestyle coach.

I have always been passionate about healthy and nutritious foods so transitioning to eating raw and living foods was a natural progression.

Since going raw, I have lost 60 pounds (originally weighed 185) and now weigh 125 pounds, and I am a size 4 instead of a 12/14. Having dealt with high cholesterol, migraines, arthritis, and weight fluctuation, I made raw foods a standard of living and went through an amazing transformation. My body and spirit are now healthy, revitalized, and energized.

I teach raw food classes at North Georgia Homeschool Enrichment; and, I am a participant in various health seminars at local schools.
